January 29th 2025 Sea of Stars: The Concept Art of Bryce Kho is a book that comes highly recommended for fans of the game. It was released last year by 3dtotal Publishing and featured the art of Bryce Kho, concept artist of the game from Sabotage Studio. Now more is on the way after Bryce's next book has been successfully crowdfunded on its campaign launch day. On January 28th the Kickstarter for Overflow: The Art of Bryce Kho, found here , went live and it had some additional extras. Most notably, a book that is described as a 64 page companion for the Sea of Stars artbook. The cover can be seen below and has the title on the front, Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker - The Concept Art of Bryce Kho. The above screenshot gives a preview of the book cover for the add-on book When selecting the add-on, the following details are given on the book; • 1 x companion book to Sea of Stars: The Concept Art of Bryce Kho featuring character art for the upcoming DLC and behind-the-scenes commentary between game director Thierry Boulanger and Bryce Kho • 304mm x 228mm • 64 pages Other additional options for Overflow: The Art of Bryce Kho include two bespoke enamel pins and a signed giclée print. January 28th 2025 2 new artbooks are out today, horror and Marvel fans can pick up an end of month treat for their collection! The Art of Dead Space First up is The Art of Dead Space from Dark Horse and Motive Studio. It covers the concept art and 3D models for the remake, highlighting changes made with comparisons too. The book also has insights from the team throughout. No early art in this one, but a great showcase of the Motive art team and what goes into modernising a game for newer hardware. Marvel Studios' The Infinity Saga - Guardians of the Galaxy: The Art of the Movie The second book out today is Marvel Studios' The Infinity Saga - Guardians of the Galaxy: The Art of the Movie from Titan Books and Marvel Studios. This is a rerelease as part of the Infinity Saga collection, which aims to bring back the artbooks that released along side the movies up until Spider-Man: Far From Home. Filled with over 300 pages of concept art for the characters, locations, ships and more for the movie, it's a highlight in creativity for the early Marvel Studios artbooks, as it opens up the cosmic side of the universe. It also has a lot of new characters to introduce that are now hugely popular, making it a great book for fans to see the early ideas through art. This comes personally recommended based on content alone and this new edition, while without a slipcase like the original, has a great price point that makes suggesting it even easier. 25/01/2025 The artbook for the second season of the animated show Invincible has been delayed, but online listings still aren't making it clear what the new date is. The Art of Invincible Season Two dates were already inconsistent at the end of last year with Image Comics, the book publisher, listing it for release on April 30th, yet online stores, including Amazon, had it as the 25th. Now the book has been pushed a couple of months. The delay though has brought more confusion based on online information. Image Comics now list it for June 25th of this year. In the US though, on sites like Amazon and Barnes & Noble, the book is due for release on June 10th. If you are in the UK, the book is online for release a month later on July 8th. It's not uncommon for books to release with a time gap in different regions, but prior to the delay, this was not the case. On Amazon in France and Germany, it is dated for June 10th too, as an English edition. It seems very odd that they would get the book in English before the UK and not at the same time. In Italy it is also listed for July, confirming a continued lack of consistency. Artbook publication dates are always shifting and delays aren't unusual, but the publisher and various stores having different information here may mean that nothing can be taken at face value until the summer. January 20th 2025 Last year publisher 3dtotal, game developer Sabotage Studio and artist Bryce Kho came together to release the artbook, Sea of Stars: The Concept Art of Bryce Kho . The book was a highlight of 2024, not only because of the presentation and quality of the book from 3dtotal, but of course because of the art of Bryce. Just like the game, his art and designs look incredible, making it a must have for fans. On January 28th a Kickstarter is launching that sees 3dtotal and Bryce Kho teaming up again. This time it will be for the personal work of Bryce and is titled, Overflow: The Art of Bryce Kho. See an announcement post from X below. January 15th 2025 Marvel Studios' She-Hulk: Attorney at Law - The Art of the Series has been subject to multiple delays and right before release, now has another. Originally due in February 2024, the book is currently listed for February 25th 2025, two and a half years after it debuted on Disney+. It was most recently due to be released January 14th, but was pushed in the same month. On UK websites though, this wasn't done until after the 14th came and went, leaving it listed as either 'Out of Stock' or 'Unavailable' on the day of release. This is far from the first delay and while this isn't unusual for Marvel, this book was worse than most. It was shifted multiple times; February 2024 > June 2024 > August 2024 > November 2024 > January 2025 > February 25th 2025. Marvel artbook releases post Infinity Saga have been a disaster to say the least, a shame, as the quality of the books themselves is very high. The books now come with a slipcase, but this was added to books from Deadpool & Wolverine onwards. So this does not come with one, because along with Loki Season 2, the delays have pushed this old format out, creating a crossover. Previews of the book will be posted here when it finally arrives! January 16th 2025 The Art of Dead Space from Motive Studio and Dark Horse is due for release January 28th, but nothing was known about what it would include until now. The game is a remake, which means that the bulk of the design work is already done, but not only this, there is already an artbook for the original trilogy, The Art of Dead Space from 2013, meaning printed art already exists for Dead Space. It was unknown if this new book would highlight old art, all new art or a mix of both. Listings online, including Amazon, have page previews available for the book which shed a little light on what to expect. These only offer a small glimpse, but as mentioned in the text on the pages above, this is a look at the new art created for the game and how they made changes to the original designs. While unlikely, it will be interesting to see if they do use additional art from the original release as the previous artbook was split between 3 games, so there is no doubt more unseen art that they couldn't fit in. January 9th 2025 With the Assassin's Creed Shadows being delayed, it was inevitably going to push the artbook date too. The Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows was listed for February 18th after the first delay, which kept it close to the game release, unusual for artbooks today. The book is now dated for March 25th, keeping close to the game release. It was originally dated for last year, which would have had it release in the same year as The Art of Assassin's Creed Mirage, which released much later than the game, which has become the norm post covid. While it is not a surprise, Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts*: The Art of the Movie is confirmed by an online listing to be coming out this year. Penguin Random House has listed the book for August 23rd, with a price of $100. Expect the book to start appearing on other online retailers too. The book is coming with a slipcase, which is what explains the high price, first seen with the release of Marvel Studios' Deadpool & Wolverine: The Art of the Movie. It will also stick with the 224 page count and includes lithographs.
