On The Artbook Collector YouTube channel this week is a look at the upcoming book, Disney/Pixar The Color of Toy Story: A 30th Anniversary Celebration of Colorscripts and Creativity!

This continued partnership between Pixar and Chronicle Books showcases the colorscripts of the first four Toy Story movies to celebrate the release of the original 30 years ago. The 16cm x 21cm book is being released on September 23rd 2025, and although small in dimensions, packs a hefty 328 pages for fans to enjoy. It delivers a heavy dose of nostalgia for the animated movie series, using the wonderful art to take readers through the story of each release.

The colorscript artists captured the magic and charm of Toy Story even before making it to the big screen, helping guide the visuals that made the movies become beloved across multiple generations. Ralph Eggleston, Jim Pearson, Dice Tsutsumi, and more, get their work wonderfully displayed throughout the pages, presented like film reels to enjoy each movie in a new way.

Toy Story was released in November of 1995 by Pixar Animation Studios and Disney as the first ever animated full-length feature film, taking the new technology to a new level and becoming a household name. The movie followed the adventures of toys that come to life when no one is around, featuring a large cast of characters, including Woody, Buzz Lightyear. and Jessie. Since that first release, 3 more movies have been made and a fifth is now set for release next year, with each growing the fanbase of people of all ages due to its humour, heart, emotional story beats, and ever-impressive visuals.
