PlayStation had a lot of people excited for the latest State of Play and they hit us with a wave of new announcements and details for some great looking titles. With this in mind, it made sense to create a list of new predictions based on what we saw, to give you an idea of the possible artbooks that can be on your shelf in the future.
Check out the list of each game shown below and check out the list for February's State of Play here.
Wolverine

Wolverine from Insomniac Games was the one game we knew would be at the showcase ahead of time, and it's safe to say we know ahead of time that an artbook is coming. Not only is it a Sony first-party game, which often get them, but the developer has released 3 artbooks for the Spider-Man games. I'd certainly like to see one with so many Marvel characters and, with any luck, a breakdown of the visuals for the incredibly fun gore.
The last release, The Art of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, switched publishers and was released by Dark Horse, in keeping with the rest of the PlayStation Studios' books, making them the likely suspect to release one for Logan's new game. 'The Art of Marvel's Wolverine' would be a welcome book in the collection here and if revealed, expect this in 2027, as the look at Peter and Miles' return came 8 months after the game launched.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls - Arc System Works aren't known for their artbooks, but this is a Marvel game, most of which do get a release. This includes big AAA titles to smaller releases, as seen with Marvel Cosmic Invasion: The Art of the Game, so there is a reasonable chance this will have an artbook.
Rayman Legends: Retold - The new reimagining of Rayman Legends is unlikely to get an artbook, because remakes often don't get this treatment. The original didn't get one either though, perhaps giving is more reason to give people a look at the artwork and its charming style, but I'd still be (pleasantly) surprised if one was announced.
Bancho the Chef - Not the type of game to get an artbook, but artwork could always be shared online.
Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen - This third person action game certainly has an interesting visual style filled with colour. This could be the type of release that gets a surprise artbook if it does well, at least in Japan. It's not out until next year though, so it's a long time for any potential announcement.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
I mentioned that remakes don't often get the artbook treatment, but the remake of Tomb Raider from Flying Wild Hog is one that could receive it. Not only is it a huge upgrade to the original, but the last three games got one as well, which also were not the first for the iconic IP. The last release was Shadow of the Tomb Raider: The Official Art Book from Titan Books, so Crystal Dynamics is certainly open to making it happen, and I think it is likely.
The Lost Wild - An Annapurna game is often worth checking out, with this release from Great Ape Games delivering some very cool dinosaur visuals, but it's not an obvious candidate for an artbook.
Phantom Blade Zero - Chinese publisher S-GAME has only one prior release since they began in 2013, and so this is not standing out as a game that will get an artbook. The 'soulslike' genre does have a lot them, but I'd wager we won't see one for this release.
Dune Awakening - The game already has an artbook! The Art and Making of Dune Awakening from Insight Editions was released last year, you can read my review here.
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered - A remaster like this will certainly won't be getting an artbook. It's a fun release to mark the 25th anniversary of the game for fans though.
No Rest for the Wicked - The upcoming game from Moon Studios ordinarily wouldn't stand out as a title to get an artbook, but the developer did release The Art of Ori and the Will of the Wisps with Future Press, so I feel like there's a small chance, but I'd bet against it in this instance.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword - It will certainly be a popular game, but Capcom are lacking when it comes to artbooks, even stopping them for Resident Evil after 6. Monster Hunter gets them at times, but it doesn't seem to be their focus. If Pragmata receives one though, then I'll be more optimistic.

Silent Hill: Townfall - Like Resident Evil, this series is sadly lacking volumes of artwork, and if any entry were to get one, I feel like it would have been another release.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Thieves - Vehicle based games, especially those not deep into the realm of sci-fi, don't get artbooks, and I can't see that changing here.
Stuntman: Hollywood - For the same reasons as Ace Combat 8, don't expect an artbook, but this was a nice surprise return for Stuntman!
Ill - This game looks wonderfully gruesome and the enemies look horrifically creepy, but if Mundfish didn't release an artbook for Atomic Heart, a game much more creative in its overall world design, then I can't see one happening here either.
Control Resonant

I've spoken on this game before and I remain optimistic for a future reveal of 'The Art of Control Resonant', but from who remains to be seen. The Art & Making of Control was released by Future Press, but they just had a disaster of a launch for a reprint (I had endless problems ordering the book and it's still not here after weeks of waiting), also only doing very limited runs.
Alan Wake: Design Works is coming by way of Lost in Cult, so there is potential there too. Remedy Entertainment also partnered with Limited Run Games to make Alan Wake 2 Artbook, but it was only available on a collectors edition. All of these options are there, but all have very limited copies. I'm certain there will be a book, but buy it up quick if they don't head to a larger publisher. The game's world looks strange in the best way possible, so this could be a fun book of concepts and designs.
Marathon - Still no word on an artbook for Bungie's latest game. The studio did have books for both Halo and Destiny, but given the art theft issues, disappointing sales, and financial issues, I'm less convinced than ever that there will be an artbook.
PlayStation Plus titles - Runescape: Dragonwilds and the classic games won't be getting a dive into their artwork.
God of War: Laufey

This is the game I am the most sure get an artbook along with Wolverine. There have been multiple God of War releases with a look at concept art, with the most recent being God of War: 20th Anniversary Retrospective from Dark Horse covering the previous games, the publisher was also behind The Art of God of War and The Art of God of War Ragnarök, along with many other first part studio artbook.
In the 20 minutes of gameplay shown, there was a huge amount of interesting character and creature designs, leaving little doubt as to there being a wealth of concept art to be shown off from the artists and Santa Monica Studio. A 200+ page hardcover book is an easy sell to fans, but without a release date for the game, this will likely be a long way off.
On a personal note, God of War is my favourite franchise and the concept art got me into collecting artbooks, so both the game and inevitable 'The Art of God of War: Laufey' will definitely be joining the collection.
That's another State of Play over and some more speculation as to what is coming in the future! My wallet continues to get nervous with each passing event, and there are definitely at least a couple more artbooks coming with the line-up.
Check out the Upcoming page for books that have been announced to stay up to date with what is heading our way soon.
