Upcoming Artbooks: August 2026

The wave of artbook releases doesn't slow down for the summer, because August is coming with some very interesting titles to fill your shelves. It may be a slightly lighter month, but there are some huge titles that will no doubt do incredibly well!
4th -Â Marvel Cosmic Invasion: The Art of the Game
The month of August begins with a look at concepts, illustrations, and pixel art for Marvel Cosmic Invasion. Coming by way of Dark Horse Books, the 120-page hardcover gives players of the beat 'em up a chance to revisit the characters and levels through the work of Tribute Games' artists. Marvel Cosmic Invasion: The Art of the Game is an exciting release for fans, especially as the genre isn't known for getting the artbook treatment.
11th - Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies: The Art of Treyarch
For the first time ever, Call of Duty is getting a standalone artbook, allowing the millions of players the chance to get lost in the concept art of its popular Zombies mode. Insight Editions and Titan Books are behind Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies: The Art of Treyarch, which is set to feature 256 pages of artwork and insights for 15 years of its growth.
18th - The Art of Star Wars: A New Hope—The Manga Volume 2
Volume 2 of The Art of Star Wars: A New Hope—The Manga continues to show the scans of art from Hisao Tamaki, as well as an interview with the artist. The hardcover includes an English translation of the manga adaptation, but keeps the original left-to-right reading format.
The Art of Star Wars: A New Hope—The Manga Volume 2 is being released in the US and Canada, but it's worth noting that Dark Horse does not have the licensing to sell Star War books outside elsewhere. Those outside of the continent will have to import the book themselves, or find a retailer that is able to get copies shipped to them.
This book follows The Art of Star Wars: A New Hope—The Manga Volume 1.
18th - Spider-Man: Brand New Day – The Art of the Movie
Sony and Marvel's big release of the summer is almost here and should deliver an intersting artbook to get lost in. Spider-Man, Punisher, Hulk, Tombstone, and more, are set to be featured in the movie, so expect a lot of character art from the studios.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day – The Art of the Movie was recently delayed, likely due to avoid further spoilers from getting out ahead of the movie, but it still arrives within a few weeks of Tom Holland's return as the wall-crawler in cinemas, as big improvement on other MCU artbook wait times. It also comes without a slipcase, but that does mean a lower RRP of $50, making it much more affordable for the many Spidey fans of the world.
25th - The Art & Lore of Dead by Daylight
The month ends with a celebration of the long running horror game Dead by Daylight from Behaviour Interactive. Titan Books share a look at the concept art that helped build the base game, as well as expand it over the last decade. The Art & Lore of Dead by Daylight also has details from the developers themselves, so readers can find out what it took to build The Entity's realm and how it has remained so popular.
