'Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender: The Art of the Movie' Cover Art Revealed

Aang makes his official return tomorrow in the new movie Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, catching us up with the Avatar and his friends years after the animated show took place. The new movie also comes with an artbook, Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender: The Art of the Movie, which has now got a cover reveal at San Diego Comic-Con.

The cover art seen above depicts Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Appa, Momo and Zuko in a very bright piece of artwork. It also shows the Tagah, a new character played by Dave Bautista, that is central to the story. The 256-page hardcover from publisher Abrams Books is set to arrive on November 10th, 2026 with an RRP of $50 or £37.

This wasn't the only reveal though, as there is also a Deluxe Edition of the book which also debuted its cover art that you can see below. We now know from listing details that it comes in a cloth slipcase with foil stamping and has ten vellum chapter openers that create artwork when layered together. This version of the book has an RRP of $100 or £74.

Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender: The Art of the Movie will share a look at the early concept art for the characters, creatures, locations, and more of the movie, giving us a glimpse at the unused designs for the Avatar's return. It also features insights through interviews with the minds behind it too, including co-creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, director Lauren Montgomery, and the artists themselves.

Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender was originally set for release on October 9th before being brought forward to July 25th on Paramount+. The original series and its follow up, The Legend of Korra, were hugely popular and had artbooks of their own that were eventually given second editions, so Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender: The Art of the Movie is also very likely to be on the wishlist of many fans.
