English Edition of 'The Art of Final Fantasy Tactics' Delayed to March 2027

A look at the hugely popular Final Fantasy Tactics from Square Enix was released in Japan in 2025, leaving those in the West patiently waiting for a translated edition. After being announced for a release in November The Art of Final Fantasy Tactics has now been delayed and will hit shelves in 2027.
It was originally due for release on November 10th 2026, but listings online, including from Penguin Random House and Amazon US, now show that the book is coming March 16th 2027. These websites are always the first to be updated, so they are always a safe confirmation of a change. Many other listings for the 128-page book are yet to be updated, but they always trail behind, especially outside of the US, and in this case even Square Enix's own listing is yet to change the date.
The hardcover features art for Final Fantasy Tactics' original 1997 release, as well as the the 2007 PSP version titled The War of the Lions, and the 2025 edition The Ivalice Chronicles. Fans will be able to look over the concepts and illustrations for characters, locations, jobs, and more, making this a celebration of the artistry behind the turn based game.
Most recently, Square Enix Books release Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Material Ultimania on July 14th, sharing a look at artwork, character models, lore, and insights into the second part of their Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy. The publisher also released The Art of Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Rising Tide, which you can read a review for here, sharing a look at the two DLCs for Final Fantasy XVI.
A delay is always a disappointment for players, especially when it's a translated edition that should have an easier time avoiding them. Final Fantasy has a dedicated audience though, so as painful as the wait can be, this is sure to be worth it for those that have enjoyed Tactics.
