The upcoming artbook for Star Wars Visions has been delayed with no explanation and now looks to be on hold. The title has also been removed or made unavailable on retailer websites.
The Art of Star Wars: Visions Volume 2, written by Amy Ratcliffe and published by Dark Horse, was due to be released on July 17th after the latest update. The 192‑page hardcover book was set to showcase the concept art, storyboards, and insights for the second season of the animated Star Wars: Visions show. When this change happened is not clear and only noticed when checking listings for any updates.
This abrupt delay came without an official statement or explanation, as is normal for the vast majority of artbook schedule changes. The book is no longer on the Dark Horse website either, implying this is more than a simple delay and possibly a cancellation.

Delays are common for artbooks, however, an indefinite one is highly unusual and usually indicates it won't be coming at all. That's not to say that this is definitely the case, but I cannot think of a time where this happened and the book was released. The last case of this happening was for the Secret Invasion artbook from Marvel Studios, which was listed for last September and will not be coming out.
In the case of The Art of Star Wars: Visions Volume 2, the book cannot be found on Amazon US or UK via the search. However, a direct link can get you to the page, with the US listing stating it is unavailable with a new release date of January 2nd 2079, a date I have seen in the past as a placeholder. The UK page, as well as others from Europe, have it as unavailable with the old release date. The Canadian page still has it up for pre-order, but with the 2079 placeholder too. When searching for the book the usual book sites are not appearing here in the UK and the most popular retailers also have no listing. It is possible that those that pre-ordered have been notified that the book has been delayed or cancelled, but this can depend on the retailer, as not all of them do this.
Given that the second season came out over 2 years ago, there would already be a smaller potential audience because people can move on from movies and show quickly, especially in today's world of streaming services and endless waves of news things to watch. Delaying this book further would only make this worse, making it possible to speculate that this could be a potential reason to cancel it entirely. Or it may simply be that there are other issues involved.
Another problem that could be facing this release was reported recently on this website for the upcoming artbook, The Art of Star Wars Outlaws. Dark Horse does not have the permission from Lucas Publishing to ship or sell Star Wars artbooks or comics to the UK, but also seemingly all countries outside of American territories, limiting the possible sales numbers even more. You can read about that licensing issue here.
Again, this is all speculation, but as there has been no public acknowledgement of the delay/ cancellation, it's all anyone can do. No doubt fans that did want to the book will be disappointed, but fortunately they do have the third season of the animated series around the corner, with a premier date of October 29th 2025 on Disney+. The show itself has received high praise from the Star Wars fandom, so being able to watch the new episodes soon will give those wanting another artbook their fix of Visions.
If there are any updates on the book, they will be reported here, as well as for other Star Wars artbooks.
