The book is available to pre-order on their website and comes as a oversized hardcover with over 250 pages and premium paper. It is set for release on September 1st 2026, the date of the companies' anniversary. The cover, seen above, highlights some of the titles included inside, such as Mass Effect, The Last Guardian, Journey, and Castlevania. Others are also confirmed to be featured through page previews, such as Jet Set Radio and Cyberpunk 2077. Artworks included range from concept and key art, to commissions, expanding its variety beyond just the visual styles and games. Over 150 pieces will be included, with some seen in the previews below.

Alongside the art will be insights from the artists themselves, giving notes on their creations, as well as essays from notable names in the space, such as John Sweeney (The Last of Us Part II) and Jonathon Kinkley (Chicago Gamespace video game museum). There are also notes on the relationship with Cook and Becker and how they used the artwork, such as being used for officially licensed prints.

Cook and Becker are dedicated to physical media and the work of artists, making them a great company to keep an eye on if you have space on your shelf for some goodies, or wall space for some high quality video game prints too. Most recently, the publisher announced another artbook, Into the Glade of Dreams: The Art and Design of Rayman, a look at the history of the iconic Rayman series that is also available to pre-order.

Their last book release was WORLD OF TANKS. Journey Through Art, made in partnership with Wargaming to celebrate 15 years of the online game. In my review of that book I highlighted that I enjoyed the artwork and book design, with curation choices that created a nice mix of images to pore over. Read that here.
