'MOUSE: P.I. For Hire Official Art Book' Uncovers the Game's Rubber Hose Artwork in 2027

Lost in Cult have unveiled an exciting new look at one of the most unique looking games of 2026, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire. Partnering with developer Fumi Games, they are sharing a collection of the noir and rubber hose artwork behind the game in MOUSE: P.I. For Hire Official Art Book, coming as both a Standard and Deluxe Edition in 2027.
Available to pre-order now on the Lost in Cult website, fans can secure a copy of the upcoming hardcover that will present the concept art and designs for characters and locations of Mouseburg, giving us a look at how the hand-drawn style came together. It will be 210mm x 256mm in size with 200+ pages of artwork to pore over.
It will also feature developer interviews to shed light on the making of the game, adding behind-the-scenes details alongside the character concepts, production art, animatics, and more. MOUSE: P.I. For Hire was highly praised for its visual design, so this will be the perfect chance for fans to revisit the story of Jack Pepper though the work of the artists, all while discovering new details on how it was created.
The book is expected to begin shipping around September 2027, which is a while to wait, but like Lost in Cult's Design Works series, those that order early can secure a Deluxe Edition of the book, which will be available for 60 days. This version of the book seen below will include the following extras;

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is a first-person shooter from Polish developer Fumi Games, with PlaySide Studios acting as the publisher. It combines classic boomer-shooter gameplay with investigative moments, boasting a rubber hose and noir visual design that landed well with players. It's set in Mouseburg, a city of animal characters in which you control P.I. Jack Pepper, using a range of weapons to take out enemies in its vintage cartoon style. The game was released on April 16th, 2026 and has since gone on to sell over one million copies, making it a big success for the studio. It's winning mix of gameplay and graphics have made it a standout title in a packed year of releases, so this artbook will be the perfect way to enjoy the game all over again.

As well as this new upcoming artbook, Lost in Cult also have titles available in their Design Works series, which share art, interviews, design documents, and other visual material for indie games. The last reveal was for Terraria: Design Works, but a retail version of Outer Wilds: Design Works was also revealed and arrives in October. Other titles include Alan Wake: Design Works, Amnesia: Design Works, and Cult of the Lamb: Design Works.
Lost in Cult continue to be very busy in the book space, but also regularly announce new vinyl soundtracks and physical game releases too, so are always worth keeping an eye on if you're a fan of indie games and physical releases. With the gaming space trying to go digital, especially with Sony planning to stop disc production for new games starting in 2028, products and collectibles will be highly sought after for those of us that will want to own and hold something, and Lost in Cult are one of the companies that will be on the frontline of keeping that going.
