The Alan Wake series is a psychological survival-horror franchise from Remedy Entertainment, blending third-person action and exploration with a narrative driven story. Alan Wake is an author battling with writer’s block, but during a trip to Bright Falls things take a dark turn, trapping him in a story he doesn't remember writing. The 2010 original was followed up by the spin-off Alan Wake's American Nightmare in 2012 and the a full sequel in 2023, titled Alan Wake II. The sequel introduced FBI agent Saga Anderson as a second playable character. The games have been well received by players and critics, becoming a favourite of many in the genre.
