June 8th 2026
The biggest week of the year for video game announcements already had gamer's wishlists growing before XBOX got their time in the spotlight, but they came out swinging to increase them even more. With that in mind, I have gone over the games shown to highlight more artbooks that could be revealed in the future. From a small chance to very likely, including some already on the market, there are 17 games to take note of!
Check out the list below and find my other predictions lists from the week's showcases for more; PlayStation State of Play June 2026
Gears of War: E-Day

Gears of War: E-Day is a big talking point at the moment because it will be a console exclusive, but it came up strong on my radar for a potential artbook based on the series' past. The first standalone artbook, The Art of Gears of War 3, was released by the now closed Ballistic Publishing as a more limited release. However, since then, three more artbooks have been released on a larger scale.
The Art of Gears of War 4 and The Art of Gears 5 were released by Dark Horse Books, and Gears Tactics - The Art of the Game came by way of Titan Books. The Coalition and Xbox are no strangers to releasing artbooks for the games from larger publishers, so this one is a safer bet to get a peak at the concept art.
Fable - This is the return of the beloved RPG series, this time being developed by Playground Games. The team worked on Forza Horizon 5 and 6 and have no prior history with artbooks, though this game would be suited for one. The only prior standalone book for Fable was The Art of Fable Legends, which shows the art of the cancelled game and makes it very unique, as you can read about in my article on the book here. 'The Art of Fable' is not a safe bet, but I wouldn't be surprised at a reveal either.
Halo: Campaign Evolved

One of the most obvious choices on the list for an artbook is Halo: Campaign Evolved, a series that is also no stranger to sharing volumes of artwork. Halo Studios have released them for their last few releases, including Awakening: The Art of Halo 4 that you can see in the video preview below.
The only thing worth noting is that this is a remake, so that can reduce the chance of an artbook. However, there is a digital artbook coming as part of the Collector's Edition and I wouldn't be convinced that they stop there.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy - This more action driven return to the series has a reasonable chance at getting a book given that the last two games got one with The Heart of a Plague Tale: A Visual Making Of from Third Editions. This was a hybrid development history and art book, so Asobo Studio are open to sharing their team's work. If a sequel is planned though, it may arrive later to cover all releases.
Persona 4 Revival - No new artbook for this one, but the original release got the artbook treatment with Persona 4: Official Design Works in 2012 from Udon Entertainment, though it has since sold out.
Sea of Thieves - There are two artbooks for the popular online pirate adventure. The Art of Sea of Thieves is now a rare gem for collectors and was released by Dark Horse. The follow up was released last year and made by Titan Books, highlighting added content for the game. You can read my review of that book here - Book Review: Sea of Thieves: The Art of Piracy.
Metro 2039 - No artbook has ever been released for a Metro game, which is surprising as it would be well suited for one. A look at the concept art for the creatures and derelict locations would be interesting to see. It's not one I'm expecting, but this is one that would make sense, so not outside the realm of possibility
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember
The follow up to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty from Team NINJA was featured at the showcase, inviting players back to their dark fantasy world. I've been reasonably (but I think fairly) harsh on the artbook for the first game, as the English release of The Art of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty from Udon Entertainment has been delayed multiple times, now arriving on June 23rd 2026. This is a year later than its first scheduled release date, but almost 3 years after the Japanese original from Kadokawa.

An artbook is on the table then, but don't expect it in the West anytime soon if the last book is anything to go by. However, those that are able to read Japanese will likely get a release to dive into just months after the game's 2027 release.
Senua - The third game featuring Senua from Ninja Theory wasn't expected as Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is only a couple of years old, but it was a welcome reveal for fans. I think an artbook or 'Making of' hybrid book would be great for the games, but none have been released so far. As a game with incredible visuals, it's not unreasonable to think that could change, but it's not a safe bet by any means.
DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations

More opportunities to rip and tear are coming for DOOM fans with a story expansion in July to DOOM: The Dark Ages from id Software. The good news is, an artbook is already available and it's fantastic. The Art of DOOM: The Dark Ages seen in the preview below has some incredible artwork from the team and is well worth picking up. The sad news is, I'm not expecting another for Revelations, but books based on DLC are not common in the artbook world outside of online based games. At least those returning to DOOM for the new content will have a book to pick up from Dark Horse that wasn't available at launch.
Age of Empires IV: Raiders of the North - The strategy game is getting new content and makes this list because a look at the games artwork is already available. Age of Empires IV: A Future Press Companion Book is a hybrid strategy guide book and artbook. It's still in stock at Future Press, but fans should act quickly as the publisher doesn't do the largest print runs.
Magicians: The Devil's Deal - This upcoming game looks like a fantastic blend of magic and BioShock, standing out as a candidate to get the artbook treatment. Uppercut Games haven't released one before, but if they were to do one, this would be the game to start with. This is a predication based on the visuals, but if the game does well, then the lower chance of it happening will greatly increase.
The Elder Scrolls Online - The game did get an artbook, but only in the Imperial Edition sadly, with The Improved Emperor's Guide to Tamriel coming as a 224-page hardcover, a good size for a book included in an edition like this.
Persona 6 - As mentioned earlier, Persona 4 received an artbook, which was also followed by Persona 5 + Persona 5 Royal: Official Design Works, making this one of the most likely books on the list.
Spyro: A Realm Beyond

This was an exciting reveal, as Spyro is a video game icon that has multiple generations of fans thanks to the Reignited Trilogy from 2018. A new game from Toys for Bob means that an artbook could also be coming our way, and if you have seen their previous volumes in partnership with Titan Books, then you know something special could be cooking. Both The Art of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time and The Art of Spyro: Reignited Trilogy are spectacular, coming packed with charming artwork for the classic mascots, their companions, enemies, and worlds.
'The Art of Spyro: A Realm Beyond' is not only fairly likely, but is a book that fans will find just as exciting to own as the game itself.
Clockwork Revolution - inXile Entertainment are delivering another big console exclusive and although they have no prior artbooks, they could have one brewing for this new steampunk RPG. Like Magicians: The Devil's Deal, its visuals lend itself to the artbook treatment, but as an Xbox Games Studio, it's chances improve. If the game sells well, the wonderful visuals could be explored through the early concept art, so let's hope the exclusivity gamble works out and its impressively looking world can be explored further.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

The final game of the Xbox Games Showcase was Modern Warfare 4, sharing a look at the new DMZ extraction mode. Now, this game is not going to be getting an artbook, dedicated standalone artbooks for individual titles simply don't get made. It's not all bad news though, because and artbook from Titan Books is coming on August 11th to share a look at the series' Zombies mode. Call of Duty Zombies: The Art of Treyarch will deliver 256 pages of artwork and insights into Zombies, exploring its growth from being based in a single wooden house, to an experience that includes set pieces and narratives. Why a book hadn't come sooner is unknown, but Call of Duty has enough fans that this should do very well.

An that's the list! There was a lot of potential artbooks to consider based on what was shown by XBOX in their showcase. Many of these games are not out for some time, but hopefully we will start to get reveals of these books over the next year or two.
Check out the Upcoming page for books that have been announced to stay up to date with what is heading our way soon.
