A new artbook is coming next year from Marvel Animation in partnership with publisher Abrams Books for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The book was spotted on the website of the publisher and has also begun to appear on retailer listings too.

'The Art of Marvel Animation’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man' appeared online earlier this week with a release date of June 2nd 2026, but has since been shifted to June 9th. It's a long way off from release, so changes aren't unexpected, especially as the book is yet to even receive a placeholder cover image, highlighting that it's still being worked on. We do have the details that it is a 224-page hardcover with an RRP of $45/ £35.

A description is also available for the book that highlights what it will include, with the key features as noted here;

"The Art of Marvel Animation’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is a collector's item packed with photos and interviews with key creatives accompany sketches, storyboards, character and costume designs, animation cels, and other ephemera from the making of the series."

This is not the first book that Abrams Books has worked on with Marvel Animation—though they were still using the name Marvel Studios at the time—as they released The Art of Marvel Studios’ What If...? in August of 2024. This was after Marvel themselves had listed the book as part of their ongoing artbooks series for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, before eventually cancelling the book and later publishing it through Abrams. This new book is likely an indication that all future animated series from the studio will be released this way too.

Abrams Books also released Marvel Studios: The Art of Ryan Meinerding, shining the spotlight on the artwork of the Head of Visual Development and his concept art from the very first Iron Man through to Wakanda Forever. It's interesting that Marvel uses other publishers for their artbooks, which includes Dark Horse and Titan Books too, as they are a publisher themselves, but with so many coming out and delays being common still, perhaps it is to best handle the volume of releases. Most recently The Art of Marvel Rivals was released through Dark Horse.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man follows Peter Parker as he continues to grow into the role of the web-slinger, meeting new allies and taking on many of the character's villains from the comics. The series premiered on Disney+ in January of this year and uses a comic book visual style, which will no doubt be explored in this new book. The series was received well by fans, so this may be of interest to not only people that saw the show, but Spider-Man fans in general.

Future updates will be shared here and those wanting to add this book to their collection can do so by pre-ordering the book below.
