This week on The Artbook Collector YouTube channel is a look at the short return of a classic video game series with The Art of Deus Ex Universe!

The book was published by Titan Books in partnership with the games developer Eidos Montréal and features 208 pages of art for Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided. It was published in 2016 on the same day that Mankind Divided was released. You can check out the preview below.

Inside is a look at the concept art and designs of the characters, body modifications, weapons, enemies, locations, and technology of the two games. Typically artbooks that cover more than one game will cover each separately, but here they are combined together, highlighting the consistent art direction of the two titles. There is also commentary from the developers, giving players a further peak behind the curtain of how the designs came together.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided are cyberpunk RPGs from Eidos Montréal that follow the story of Adam Jensen, an augmented security specialist. The games serve as a prequel to the original Deus Ex and explore stories of corruption, politics, and human enhancements. Human Revolution was released in August 2011, and was followed by Mankind Divided that was launched in August 2016. Together they went on to sell over 12 million copies, making the commercial successes for the studio. No more games in the series have been released, with a title in development being sadly cancelled in early 2024 by the new studio owners, Embracer Group.

If you enjoyed the preview and would like to add a copy of The Art of Deus Ex Universe to your own collection, then the good news is that the book is still available;
