On the The Artbook Collector YouTube channel is a look at the artbook Halo Studios' (343 Industries at the time) first game, with Awakening: The Art of Halo 4!
Released by Titan Books in 2012 on the same day as the game, something that is exceptionally rare these days, the 192-page book gives players a look at the concept art for the return of Master Chief, but also his new enemies, the Forerunners. You can see the preview in the YouTube video below.
The artists on the Halo games have always been exceptional, delivering beautiful environment art and, especially with a new faction for Halo 4, great character designs. The team included Art Director Nicolas Bouvier, known best as Sparth, along with Gabriel 'Robogabo' Garza, Josh Kao, Matt Aldrige, Shae Shatz, and many more, all getting the showcase they deserve in this book.
The release of this book was followed by The Art of Halo 5: Guardians and The Art of Halo Infinite, each sharing the work of the teams on the games. In 2011, Titan Books also released Halo: The Great Journey: The Art of Building Worlds, covering the previous releases from Bungie who developed the games before moving onto the Destiny series.
Halo 4 is a first-person shooter released on November 6, 2012, the first entry in the Halo franchise from developer 343 Industries. The game once again follows Master Chief as he takes on the ancient Forerunner known as the Didact, as well as looking to save his AI Cortana before she deteriorates and is lost forever. Halo 4 delivered both a single player and multiplayer experience that the fans love, expanding the scope seen in the previous games. It was a major success too, making more than $300 million in its opening week and going on to sell more than 10 million units.
