Upcoming Artbooks for 'Endless Legend 2' and 'Endless Space' Suffer Long Delays

The Endless universe from developer Amplitude Studios has carved its own space in the 4X strategy genre, diving into both fantasy and sci-fi with Endless Legend and Endless Space. Players of the games have a couple of artbooks to look forward to, but unfortunately they have suffered delays and will leave fans waiting longer to see the artwork that helped create them.

Both updates were spotted on the website of the publisher Titan Books, with the first being for The Art of Endless Legend 2 that was due to come out next month. Having already been delayed once last year, the book was last due on April 14th, but is now listed for September 1st 2026. Delaying a book that is just over a month from release is a little more uncommon, although delays themselves sadly happen to most artbooks. It's a long setback as well for one so close to the finish line, but hopefully the last one for the upcoming release.

The 240-page hardcover will highlight the concept art and illustrations behind the game, covering the factions, environments, weapons, and more. It also acts a sequel to the artbook for the first game, The Art of Endless Legend, which hit shelves for the 10 year anniversary in December 2024. That book gives us an idea of what to expect, as it features art from early sketches and unit concepts, to stunning depictions of battle scenes. Check out a preview of that first artbook below.

The second delay is for The Art of Endless Space, the first artbook for their sci-fi game that comes with 224 pages inside of a hardcover. The original release date was August 25th, but it has now been pushed back almost six months to March 2nd 2027. This is a big setback for those wanting a peak behind the scenes, now placing its publication date just shy of the original game's 15th anniversary. Retail listings are yet to be updated, but expect them to reflect the date on the publisher's own website very soon.

Inside players will be treated to artwork and insights that explore its planets, factions, and technology, all alongside details from some of the people behind its development. Like the first artbook from Amplitude Studios and Titan Books, it will likely include a full range of concepts and artwork at different stages of development.

The delays were not publicly stated, but another artbook from the publisher, The Art & Lore of Dead by Daylight, was also delayed at the same time, potentially making this a scheduling issue. Regardless of the reason, this will disappoint fans that were hoping to have these books by the end of the summer. The books will certainly be worth the wait though, because The Art of Endless Legend was a fantastic artbook that came packed with incredible artwork that made it appealing to not just gamers, but those that enjoy fantasy art as well.
