'The Expanse: The Complete Visual History' Shares a Look Behind the Scenes in Summer 2027

Fans of the hit sci-fi series The Expanse may have seen the Rocinante and its crew end its voyage in 2022, but a new book is coming to take them behind the scenes of how the show was created. The Expanse: The Complete Visual History arrives in summer 2027 to celebrate the show and the people that helped make it happen.
The huge 320-page volume is now listed on the website of its publisher Titan Books and is set to hit shelves on August 17th, 2027. Listings for the book on retailers are expected to go live soon as this is a brand new reveal, but we know it will have an RRP of $75 or £59.99, which places it in the higher pricing for an artbook, certainly due to the larger page count and its hefty 27.3cm x 30.2cm dimensions. The cover art seen above is not final, so will be updated closer to release.
As the name implies, the book will share a look at the visuals of the show, including concept art and designs for the ships and worlds found in The Expanse. This will cover all six seasons and features production photography as well, giving readers a chance to see how the story was taken from James S.A. Corey’s novels to being adapted into a TV series.
The cast, writers, designers, and showrunners will also provide insights throughout the book through interviews, detailing the choices and designs that made the show possible, with Michael Avila on board as the author. All of this makes it a perfect companion to the show for those that enjoyed the show when it aired, or the many the continue to discover the story to save humanity in the years since.
No previews are available for the book at this time, but The Expanse: The Complete Visual History is more than a year away from being released. Titan Books will likely release a look at some pages next year in the run up to the release, as well as the final cover art. The publisher has been busy this year sharing volumes of art and insights for classic movies, including Back to the Future, Highlander, and The Fifth Element, putting this release in very safe hands.
The Expanse is a science-fiction series based on the books by James S. A. Corey that was first released on the Syfy channel before moving to Amazon Prime. It is set in a future where humans have expanded and live throughout the Solar System, but alien technology is discovered and threatens humanity. The show ran from 2015 to 2022, but its universe continues to expand, including in an upcoming video game, The Expanse: Osiris Reborn.
