The The Fifth Element is getting the artbook treatment this year from Titan Books, giving fans a chance to explore the making of the iconic sci-fi movie. 'The Fifth Element: A Visual Retrospective' has appeared on retails listings and will be an image-led volume of insights when it arrives later this year.

Spotted on Titan Book's website, the 256-page hardcover is set to arrive on September 15th 2026 with the above cover art and an RRP of $50 or £39.99. It's been almost 30 years since The Fifth Element was released, but the movie became a cult-classic and remains popular across multiple generations, so this new book will no doubt be on the radar for a lot of fans and movie buffs.
The book will feature illustrations, concept art, interviews, and more, as noted in the official description of the book below;
"The Fifth Element: A Visual Retrospective is the first sumptuously-illustrated, image-led book on the science-fiction cult classic film. Full of beautiful high-quality photography, never-before-seen concept art, blueprints, props, and costumes, this book is a Fifth Element gallery exhibition on your coffee-table. It also contains the complete original script, with anecdotes from the film’s creatives, giving fans a unique insight into how the film was made."
The Fifth Element is a visually striking film, from its dense city blocks, hover vehicles, unique aliens, eccentric costume designs, and much more, making it perfect for an artbook. Expect incredible concept art inside, including from French artists Jean-Claude Mézières and Jean "Moebius" Giraud, as well as a look at the practical sets and costumes with the on-set photographs throughout.
This will also be the first time the full script will be printed and shared, including scenes that didn't make it to the big screen, making this the ultimate companion to the movie for those wanting to learn more. Prior to this, 'The Story of The Fifth Element' was released in 1997 and also included artwork, but this will be first book that makes art the focus, while adding the script, insights, and interviews for a deeper dive into the movie.

Director Luc Besson's The Fifth Element was released by Gaumont in May 1997 and is set in the 23rd century, where Earth is under threat from a cosmic evil that returns every 5,000 years. It follows former soldier Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis), who find himself trying to save humanity after meeting the strange Leeloo (Milla Jovovich) while working as a taxi driver, who is the key to making that happen. The movie blends action, humour, and striking visual design, and a eclectic cast of characters, all of which made it a hit with fans, making it a fan-favourite almost 30 years on.
The Fifth Element: A Visual Retrospective is the perfect way to celebrate and enjoy the movie in a new way ahead of its upcoming anniversary. Pre-orders will begin going live following its reveal and can be added to your wishlist ahead of this below. Future updates on the book will be reported here as they happen.
