Players wanting more from the most recent adventure in the world of Hyrule will be able to get a huge volume of art and insights later this year, as publisher Dark Horse are back in partnership with Nintendo to publish 'The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom—Secrets of the Zonai'.

The upcoming book is set to be released on October 20th 2026 and comes as a hefty shelf-filler, delivering 472 pages of artwork and behind the scenes details for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The 9"x12” hardcover has an RRP of $59.99 and pre-orders will begin to go live very soon following the announcement that happened today on social media from Dark Horse.
It will be broken up into four parts, starting with 50 pages of illustrations, character art, and promotional images, before sharing 300 pages of sketches, rough designs, concept art, storyboards, and more, all highlighting the visual journey of the game's creation. Despite these two sections already being larger than most artbooks, it will then treat fans to over 80 pages of the history of Hyrule and the Zonai, then ending with interviews with Producer Eiji Aonuma, Director Hidemaro Fujibayashi, and Art Director Satoru Takizawa for more insights.
For those wanting a little extra, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom—Secrets of the Zonai Hero’s Edition will also be available and includes a lush green slipcase, an exclusive cover, a cloth map of the Depths, an art print, and a replica of the Secret Stone of Time. A preview of what's included can be seen below, giving the hardcore fans some extra goodies to show off on their shelf. If the 472-page hardcover alone isn't enough, the Hero's Edition retails for $119.99 and can be found here.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released on the Nintendo Switch in 2023 and follows the gaming icon Link as he works to protect Hyrule from the return of a powerful evil. Using with new abilities to manipulate objects in the world, fuse weapons, and traversing both sky islands and the depths below, he slowly pieces together the kingdom’s forgotten history as he once again looks to save Princess Zelda. The game mixes open-ended exploration, puzzle solving, and combat to give players freedom as they bring balance to a fractured world. The game went on to sell over 20 million copies, making it another (unsurprising) hit in the franchise.
This is an exciting opportunity for fans of The Legend of Zelda series to add more artwork to their collection when the book arrives on October 20th and Dark Horse being one of the biggest publishers of video game artbooks is always a great sign for any release. Of the three first-party console publishers, Nintendo is historically lacking in artbooks compared to PlayStation and Xbox, so any volume of art and insights is always exciting for collectors and owners of the consoles.
The standard edition of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom—Secrets of the Zonai can be ordered below and those outside of the US can also expect listings to appear very soon as retailers allow pre-order pages to go live. Future updates will also be reported here as they happen.
