The Art of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Suffers A Small Delay

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2's upcoming artbook is set to showcase the work of the art team from GSC Game World, giving fans a look at how the visuals came together through the early concept art, but the wait for that has just become a little longer.

The Art of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been delayed five time now, but fortunately this time it is only by a week. The November 25th release date has now been moved to December 2nd, as spotted on the website of the book publisher Dark Horse.

The 208-page hardcover book is set to feature the art for characters, weapons, creatures, environments and items of the survival FPS. It will also come with insights from the development team at GSC Game World, giving details about the making of the game, as well as the art and design.

The book has had a turbulent release schedule, with multiple delays well in advance of its publication date. It was revealed in September 2024 for release in May of 2025, but received its first push not long after. Since it was first announced, it has be moved to June, September, November 4th, and then November 25th before this latest update. Each schedule shift is getting smaller, but it will still be coming more than a year after the game was put into the hands of players on Xbox consoles and PC.

The reasons for the delays are still unknown, though that's often the case in the world of artbooks, it is only unusual this time because of how far in advance they are happening. The new date now has it hitting shelves on the same day as the The Art of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, which was revealed by Dark Horse earlier this month.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a survival horror first-person shooter that launched on November 20th 2024 for PC and Xbox. A release on PS5 has been speculated on, but no official word yet on if it is coming. The game has sold more than 3 million copies and covered its development costs in just 24 hours, a huge success for the studio.
