DOOM fans wanting more Doom Slayer and demons have something to look forward to at the end of the year, as Dark Horse revealed today that they have a new artbook coming based on DOOM: The Dark Ages.

Shared on social media, the publisher announced that The Art of DOOM: The Dark Ages is on its way in partnership with the game's developer, id Software. The 216-page hardcover book will showcase the art teams work, with a look at the demons, characters, weapons, environments, and more from the game. It will also feature commentary from the developers to, giving further insights into the creation of the blood-soaked first person shooter. The book is set to go on sale online and in stores on December 2nd 2025.

A Bethesda Gear Store Variant will also be available if you order from there directly and comes with an alternative cover. This will be sold for the same price of $54.99 as the standard retail version.

This announcement, though very exciting, is hardly a surprise and was even featured in my Artbook Predictions for 2025 Video Games article. The reason being was that the two previous entries in the series also received an artbook. The Art of DOOM and The Art of DOOM Eternal were both published by Dark Horse too, as well as a number of other Bethesda published games, making this announcement a matter of when, not if.

The game and series has a lot of fans, so there is no doubt this new artbook will be sought after by players. This is also helped by the fact that the game director, Hugo Martin, has been releasing videos on social media highlighting the work of the art team, no doubt catching the eye of those that may be less familiar with the world of concept art. Over the last couple of days, the artists have also been given the greenlight to share the work they did for the game too, so be sure to head to social media and check out the wealth of incredible concept art already released online.

DOOM: The Dark Ages was released on May 15th on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/ X by id Software and publisher Bethesda. The FPS series took players to a medieval setting for this entry in the series, serving as a prequel to 2016's DOOM and giving the back story on the Doom Slayer. It also slowed down the gameplay, going from high speed movement and agility, to heavier and more aggressive combat. It also added in more exploration and gameplay features, such as controlling a giant mech and flying a dragon-like creature.

The Art of DOOM: The Dark Ages will certainly be joining the collection here, so you can expect previews and review on release. Those that are also interested in the book can be pre-order it below for its release on December 2nd;
