Players excited for the next entry in the Borderlands series will now have a little longer to wait to get their hands on the upcoming book from Dark Horse. As spotted on the website of the publisher, the concept art showcase for Gearbox's Borderlands 4 has been pushed, but fortunately only by a week.

The Art of Borderlands 4 was set for release on September 30th, the same month as the game's launch on September 12th, something that has become increasingly less common for artbooks. Now though, the book will be released on October 7th, which is still within four weeks of people jumping into the world of Klairos.

The Art of Borderlands 4

The artbook is set to showcase the concept art, sketches, and renders for the looter-shooter, as well as insights from the development team. Based on previous artbooks for Borderlands, players can expect a look at the new characters, the hazardous environments, enemies, vehicles, and the huge arsenal of weapons the series is known for.

The 224-page book comes in Dark Horse's standard 9" x 12" hardcover format, so readers can expect their consistent good quality too. It is authored by Rick Barba, who wrote for The Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows, a book that was also published by Dark Horse and received a very positive review from this site.

Long time fans will know that there have been three previous artbook releases for the series, The Art of Borderlands 2 from BradyGames, The Art of Borderlands 3 from Titan Books, and the first book that Dark Horse published, The Art of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. The last two can still be found online, so if you missed out on those, there is still time to add them to your own shelf.

Borderlands 4 is coming to PS5, Xbox Series S/ X and PC on September 12th, 6 years after the release of Borderlands 3. The series is known for starting the 'looter-shooter' sub-genre, defined by its large number of randomized loot drops from enemies and containers found in the environment. The original Borderlands was released in 2009, followed by two sequels, The Pre-Sequel, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, multiple DLC's across the series, and two releases from Telltale Games. This upcoming entry will no doubt sell well to, with Borderlands 3 having impressively sold over 22 million copies.

Any future changes will be reported here, as well as a review when a copy joins the collection, a book I am looking forward to getting into. For others that are interested, you can pre-order The Art of Borderlands 4 here;
