Shrek is is making a big return to cinemas in June 2027 with Shrek 5, inviting fans back to the swamp to meet the new additions to the family. Not looking to just settle for a movie, DreamWorks is also giving us a look at the artwork behind the adventure with a new artbook, The Art of DreamWorks Shrek 5.

The book was spotted by an eagle-eyed fan on an Amazon listing, which has revealed some of the details about the new volume. It comes with a placeholder image, which is not unsual this early on, and has a release date of July 6th, 2027. It will be a hardcover and is currently listed as having 200 pages, though this is often a detail that can change closer to release.
As expected, The Art of DreamWorks Shrek 5 is going to share the early artwork behind the return of Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona, with the short description confirming that it will feature "exclusive concept art, sketches, character designs, and interviews."

What is most interesting is the publisher, who in this case is Blue Star Press. This is noteworthy because in the past the DreamWorks Animation was releasing titles through the publisher Abrams Books, one of the big names in the space and the people behind popular artbooks, including The Art of Star Wars series and the Marvel Animation volumes.
The last release, The Art of DreamWorks Forgotten Island, was published through Opera House Books (Ulysses Press in the UK), breaking away from Abrams and to put it plainly, doing absolutely nothing to promote the book. Many, including myself, didn't even know that book was coming, then I stumbled across it through a listing and shared it on social media, where it seems the fans first realised it existed. Hopefully, Blue Star Press will be different, but it is strange to end what seemed to be a good run with a well-known publisher.
Shrek 5 is an upcoming animated comedy from DreamWorks Animation that sees Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz return as Shrek, Donkey and Princess Fiona. It also adds Zendaya, Marcello Hernández and Skyler Gisondo as their children, expanding the family for a new story. A teaser (seen above) has been released, but little is known about the plot, but more will be revealed ahead of its June 30, 2027 release.
Future updated for The Art of DreamWorks Shrek 5 will be shared here, and those interested can pre-order the book below, and more listings in other regions should begin to appear soon;
