'The Art of Absolum' Celebrates the Designs behind the Beat 'Em Up in 2027
October 14th 2026
Video game publisher Dotemu has announced that they have partnered with Pix'n Love to share a look at Absolum, the 2025 roguelike beat 'em up. This comes as a new volume of artwork to pore over, The Art of Absolum.
The upcoming book was revealed in a post on X by Dotemu, but very little is known about the book at this time, though we do have a look at the cover art (seen above), as well as a release window of Fall 2027. Absolum was released in 2025 and is a 2D fantasy side-scroller, with this book focusing on the hand-drawn visuals and the game's world of Talamh.
French book publisher Pix'n Love have released video game artbooks in the past and, based on the previous releases, it's very likely that it will be sold through their own website. Their previous releases include The Art of Jusant - The Great Expedition, The Art of Dordogne - A video game in watercolor, and The Art of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. No listing has been made available yet, nor has the book publisher themselves made any post themselves, so keep an eye out for that in the coming weeks and days.
Absolum is a fantasy action game from developers Guard Crush Games and Supamonks that launched on October 9, 2025, for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Players control one of four heroes with unique abilities in the world of Talamh, taking on enemies and powerful bosses, all while finding upgrades in their current run of the roguelike. Absolum was well received by critics and has sold over 500,000 copies since its release. Its hand-drawn visuals are a large part of the appeal for players, making it perfect for the artbook treatment.
Updates and news for The Art of Absolum will be reported here, as well as any future artbook reveals from the publisher Pix'n Love.
