This week on The Artbook Collector YouTube channel is a recent release and a celebration of beloved take on an iconic cartoon, The Art of Rise of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
The 320-page hardcover was released on April 14th 2026 by IDW Publishing, giving fans of the show the chance to take a peak at the artwork, storyboards, and more that helped created this new take on the Turtles. It was authored, curated, and designed by superfan Colin Stein, who interviewed the minds and artists behind the show to put this volume together. Check out the video below.
Inside there are insights from Rise co-creators, Andy Suriano and Ant Ward, as well as artists, writers, voice actors, and more, giving readers details on their work and how the show and movie came to be. The shows episodes are given their own spreads of art and written details, followed by the movie, allowing fans to enjoy each one again in a new way. Some comic art and unused episodes are also included, adding more to pore over those that love The Mad Dogs.
In my review I gave the book a huge amount of praise due to it's large amount of content, page design, production quality and pricing. I really like the Stein included a look at the cheat sheets and drawing guides, giving people the chance to learn how to draw the Turtles themselves. Read it in full here - Book Review.
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reimagined the classic franchise and premiered in July 2018, offering a fresh new take on everybody's favourite Ninja Turtles. The series follows Leo, Raph, Donnie, and Mikey as younger turtles of different turtle species, also using new mystical powers as they take on a variety of villains. The show ran until 2020 and was followed by Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie in 2022, pitting them against time-traveling aliens. Rise didn't get renewed, but it had a dedicated fanbase that have shown up for this new artbook, making it number 1 on multiple Amazon best-selling lists.
