On The Artbook Collector YouTube channel is a preview a book from industry veteran Dylan Cole, showcasing his talent for fans with Creating Worlds: The Disney and 20th Century Studios Cinematic Art of Dylan Cole!

Released November 18th 2025, the book was made in partnership with publishers Insight Editions and Titan Books, delivering 296 pages of art in a hardcover book. Inside you can find some of Cole's artwork for Avatar, Alice in Wonderland, Tron: Legacy, Oz the Great and Powerful, Maleficent, Alita: Battle Angel, and Avatar: The Way of Water, along with poster designs and insights into his life and work. Check out the preview below.

The book presents the art like a gallery, giving each piece room to breathe, which is helped by the superb print quality throughout. Cole's goal with the book was to share his curated artwork as it was created and in the best way possible, which has been a great success. There are details about his life and art career too, a look at his approach to creating art, and contributions from directors James Cameron and Robert Stromberg. Fans of Dylan Cole, the movies featured inside, artists, and film buffs will find a lot to enjoy in this collection of spectacular artwork that capture the magic of the places they are based on.

For more on Creating Worlds, you can read my full review of the book, in which I break down the content, build quality, use of space, and more, sharing my thoughts throughout - Book Review.

Dylan Cole was also kind enough to speak with me last year about the book, his job role, using concept art to promote movies, and more. Check that out here - Dylan Cole Interview.

The career of Dylan Cole has spanned more than 20 years, with his art helping build the worlds of some of the biggest movies in cinema, such as those featured in his book and others, including The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. He is a multidisciplined artist, able to create art from traditional materials and digitally in both 2D and 3D, helping to create matte paintings, concept art, promotional pieces, and posters. Most recently, he was the production designer on Avatar: Fire and Ash, in which he works on the visual direction and designs of Pandora, working closely with James Cameron. You can expect to see more of his art in the upcoming book, The Art of Avatar Fire and Ash that is out July 21st.
