Another month brings another list of upcoming artbooks to keep an eye out for. May comes with the addition of a new Pixar artbook as well as a mix of video game artbooks too!
13th - The Art of Elio
*Out on the 22nd in the UK
Pixar are back in 2025 and headed to space for their next movie. The animation takes 11 year old Elio out into the unknown after being abducted by aliens, a perfect story for getting the artbook treatment with lots of weird and wonderful designs to explore.
The Art of Elio takes fans behind the curtain and highlights the art, designs and insights that helped bring the movie to life. Published by long time partner Chronicle Books, readers can expect more incredible work from the talented art team at Pixar.

20th - The Art of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
This book from Warhorse Studios and Xzone Originals will make it to the shelves of fans after being delayed from March to May. The game was released in February of this year, so despite the delay, it is still a very short wait compared to many artbooks for video games.
The Art of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II presents sketches, technical drawings and detailed images for the hit role-playing game. The 300 page hardcover can only be bought from the official merch store of Kingdom Come: Deliverance and ships from Poland. Those wanting a copy can order it here;
20th - Sea of Thieves: The Art of Piracy
Fans of Sea of Thieves can grab some new loot with the release of this artbook from Titan Books! Sea of Thieves: The Art of Piracy features previously unpublished artwork, including a look at characters, costumes, ships, locations and wildlife. The last book, The Art of Sea of Thieves, has become rare and expensive, so this presents the perfect opportunity to add some concept art for Rare's online game to your collection, especially for newer fans from PlayStation.

27th - Mega Man X DiVE: Official Complete Works
*Out on August 12th in the US
Udon and Capcom continue their collaboration with an entry for Mega Man X DiVE with a 256 page hardcover artbook. It will present a look at concept art for the characters, key art, early designs and more for the game.
Mega Man X DiVE is a 2020 mobile 2D side-scroller that uses 3D models and expands on the story of Mega Man X. The game was later released in the US and Europe in August of 2021. You can pre-order Mega Man X DiVE: Official Complete Works here;
27th - Marvel Studios' The Infinity Saga Captain America: Civil War - The Art of the Movie
Book number 12 in the ongoing series of rereleases from Titan Books brings back art for Captain America: Civil War to stores. Featuring a large amount of concepts for the characters, including the introduction of Spider-Man and Black Panther, this comes highly recommended for fans of the characters and movies.
Civil War is a fan favourite entry in the MCU, so this should be on the radar of those that missed out on the original release in 2016, especially at this price point.

?? - Okami Official Complete Works
Featured on the upcoming list for April, this book was pushed back by Udon into May, with no set release date. The book was revealed following news the sequel was heading into development by Capcom, ideal timing for those revisiting the original game after hearing the announcement.
Okami Official Complete Works was originally was released back in 2006 by Udon, but is now getting rereleased as a hardcover book. Readers can pore over the watercolor art that was translated incredibly well into the Okami game itself. You can order it now exclusively from the Udon store here.
?? - The Art of Still Wakes The Deep
Still Wakes The Deep from The Chinese Room is an award-winning horror game set on a Scottish oil rig in the 1970's, creating an interesting and yet disturbing visual design to the game. Its industrial environments in combination with changes from an unknown organic substance is well suited to be explored in an artbook, that's before you even consider the grotesque enemies players encounter as well! It will also delve into the development and themes behind the game. Cook & Becker are behind this release and a Deluxe Edition is also available with a slipcase and other extras. No exact date is given, but an update from the publisher has stated it will be released in May. You can order The Art of Still Wakes The Deep on their website here.
