The end of the year is here, but it's certainly not the end of the artbook releases for 2025, as there is a lot of art to share for movies, animation, and video games, that are headed to bookstores shortly. Check out 10 of these books in the list below!
2nd - Marvel Studios' The Infinity Saga - Thor: Ragnarok - The Art of the Movie
Titan Books is back with another reissue for the Marvel Studios artbooks, highlighting the return of Thor and Hulk in this look at Thor: Ragnarok. Concept art is shared for the characters and locations, showcasing the the talent of the artists, who also give their insights in the book too. Inside are a good number of keyframe pieces that look incredible as well.
These books are highly recommended for those that missed out on buying them the first time round. They may be slightly smaller in size, but the quality improvements of the paper, binding, and print finish make them the best way to view the art inside. 2nd - Doug Chiang - The Cinematic Legacy & The Star Wars Legacy
Doug Chiang has spent 50 years creating art for some for some of the biggest movies in Hollywood, with some of that work being shared in this two-volume hardcover set, showcasing his talent across 800 pages and contained in a slipcase.
Volume I, The Cinematic Legacy, takes a look at his career before joining Lucasfilm, featuring his art for movies such as Back to the Future Part II, T2: Judgement Day, Spawn, Jumanji, and more. Volume II, titled The Star Wars Legacy, shines a spotlight on his incredible work on the Star Wars movies, from The Phantom Menace, all the way through to the live-action shows, including The Mandalorian.
As well as featuring stunning artwork, Doug Chiang - The Cinematic Legacy & The Star Wars Legacy will include insights and stories, including from his work with George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, the Wachowskis, and more. This is a big release for Doug Chiang and sci-fi fans, but that does come with a big price tag too.
2nd - WondLa: The Art & Making of the Limited Series
WondLa from Skydance Animation follows Eva Nine, a curious teenage girl raised in isolation by her robot caretaker, MUTHR. However, upon leaving her bunker, she realises that an alien species has inhabited her now unfamiliar world!
WondLa: The Art & Making of the Limited Series gives fans a look at the concept art, sketches, 3D models, and insights behind the show, from its characters and creatures, to landscapes and storyboards.
2nd - The Art of DOOM: The Dark Ages
id Software and Dark Horse partner again to release another DOOM artbook to fans, this time with The Art of DOOM: The Dark Ages. The 216-page hardcover highlights the concept art of the demonic world, relentless demons, and more for the 2025 game. Inside are also insights from the developers too, making this the perfect companion to the game.
2nd - The Art of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
GSC Game World and Dark Horse present a look at S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl through the concept art for the game. The book will explore the characters, enemies, creatures, environments and more for the survival horror FPS. The Art of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl comes as a hardcover with 208 pages.
2nd - The Art of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2
The Chinese Room and game publisher Paradox Interactive partnered with Dark Horse Books to release a look at Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, the recently released action RPG.
The Art of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 comes with 192 pages of concept art and insights for the game's long development, perfect for fans wanting more from its world.
5th - L'art de Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Sandfall Interactive and book publisher Pix'n Love are releasing this artbook based on the 2025 hit RPG, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The 300-page hardcover features art and insights behind the turn-based Game of the Year contender, no doubt being highly sought after. However, L'art de Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is in French only, with partners for others languages yet to be announced by Pix'n Love. Keep an eye out for those announcements!
9th - Marvel vs. Capcom: Ultimate Complete Works
Udon Entertainment are re-releasing their book, Marvel vs. Capcom: Official Complete Works, as an updated hardcover with over 140 additional pages. Appropriately renamed Marvel vs. Capcom: Ultimate Complete Works, it will feature artwork for the following titles;

9th - The Art of Anno 117: Pax Romana
Dark Horse and Ubisoft Mainz are giving players a look at the art for the city-building strategy game in The Art of Anno 117: Pax Romana. The book comes with 232 pages that explore the concepts and designs that helped bring Ancient Rome to life, so those that have conquered the game have another excuse to think about the Roman Empire.
23rd - The Art of The Outer Worlds 2
Dark Horse is keeping busy in December, with a new book coming in partnership with Obsidian Entertainment to give fans a look behind the curtain at the sci-fi RPG, The Outer Worlds 2.
Featuring 192 pages and hundreds of pieces of concept art, The Art of The Outer Worlds 2 will showcase art team's work on the environments, enemies, creature and weapons. All of this and more come with the insights from the development team too.
