'The Art of The Outer Worlds 2' Delayed One Week

The upcoming artbook for the highly anticipated release of The Outer Worlds 2 from Obsidian Entertainment has been given a delay. Fortunately it is only a short push and keeps its publication date in 2025.
The Art of The Outer Worlds 2 is coming by way of Dark Horse Books and it was on their own website where this date change was spotted. Announced in June for release on December 16th, the 192-page hardcover is now coming on December 23rd 2025.
No reason has been given for the delay, which isn't unusual, in fact, it's the case the the vast majority of schedule changes. These can happen for a myriad of reasons, including print issues, missing assets, scheduling changes, updates, and more. It's also the norm for an artbook to be pushed sadly and a huge portion of the stories on this site are for delays. Sticking to the original release date is the exception, not the rule, and not a problem limited to any one publisher either, it's just a reality of the artbook world. In this case though, the delay is very short, which is good news.
Dark Horse is not only the publisher with the most video game artbook releases over the last few years, but also the partner for multiple Xbox Game Studios books too, which includes artbooks for Halo, Gears of War, DOOM, and the soon to be released book, Starfield Visual Compendium. The Art of the Outer Worlds 2 is being released in their standard format as a 9" x 12" hardcover, so you can expect a well made book with a great print quality. There's a reason so many game studios partner with Dark Horse, because their consistency makes them an easy choice as a go to for video game artbooks.
Inside fans can expect a look at the concept art and deigns for the eccentric characters, mix of locations, sci-fi weapons, deadly enemies, and more for the RPG from the art team at Obsidian. As well as this, the team behind the game provides commentary to give additional insights for their world of Arcadia. The retro-futuristic visual design is perfectly suited for the artbook treatment and will no doubt be filled with a lot of fun artwork based on what we have seen in the game so far.
With the game launching next month on October 29th, it's not too long of a wait to grab this upcoming book for people wanting more from The Outer Worlds 2 after taking on the megacorporations. With no artbook available to buy for the first game, this makes for an exciting opportunity for new fans and old to add some of the game's craziness to their shelf.
