'The Art of The Outer Worlds 2' Coming This December

The anticipated sequel to The Outer Worlds from Obsidian Entertainment is just around the corner and now comes with an upcoming artbook, The Art of The Outer Worlds 2!
Working with Dark Horse Books, who are frequently revealing new video game artbooks, the game developer is offering fans a look behind the curtain at their outlandish role-playing game, The Outer Worlds 2. Set for release on December 16th, players will get the chance to see the early concept art for the characters, enemies, weapons, creatures and environments of the game. It will come as a hardcover and 208 pages to pore over. It's listed with a RRP of $55, although we all know artbooks rarely sell at full price.
As well as this, players wanting more from the Arcadia star system will also be treated to insights from the development team behind the game. The following was included in the press release from Dark Horse; "After painstakingly assembling this treasured content that will be the highlight of every valuable client’s assets, we are pulling back the curtain on a behind-the-scenes look at years of productive labor on the eagerly awaited sequel."
The game is looking fantastic and perfectly suited for the artbook treatment, with its mix of over the top weapons, strange wildlife, dangerous robots and retro-futuristic environment designs. The exact art style of the game is hard to name, as its a blend of art nouveau, steam-punk, 'used future' and more. It's easier just to call it 'The Outer Worlds style' or not label it at all, because either way it looks charming, silly and fun.
The Outer Worlds 2 is set to launch on October 29th and was just given its own Direct at the Xbox Showcase this past weekend. Players will only have a short wait before they get their hands on this new book, giving them the chance to finish their adventure before enjoying the art and insights that paint the picture of the game's creation.
The wait for the sequel was a long time for some, but that has now been made worth it even more with this artbook coming too. Just based on what Obsidian have shown us already, this is a release I would have been requesting, so it's great news to have it revealed so soon and from a trusted publisher too.
