'The Art of Star Wars: Andor' Gets a May 2026 Release Date

After being announced at Star Wars Celebration Japan this year, the upcoming artbook for the Star Wars series Andor has been given a new official release date.
The Art of Star Wars: Andor from Abrams books was initially announced for March 2026 at the event, as reported here, but was not given a specific date. Now though, it has one and it comes with a small delay, as it is set for release on May 19th 2026. The hardcover book will come with 272 pages and is being authored by Phil Szostak, who also worked on previous Star Wars artbooks.
The short delay since being announced in April isn't much of a surprise, as The Art of Star Wars: The Acolyte was given a new date of October 7th at the same event, but was also delayed last month, now coming on January 13th 2026.
The Art of Star Wars: Andor will dive into the concept art for the characters, locations, ships, key frames, and more. As well as this, the book features a look at the production art and props, along with interviews and insights from the creative team. It will cover the development of both seasons of the show too, from the release of Rogue One, to finishing season two. The artists that work on Star Wars are some of the best in the industry and that translates to the quality of the artbooks too, each doing their work justice with great presentation.
The last artbook release for the live-action Star Wars projects was The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season Two, which was released in 2022. The books have been curiously absent since, skipping Season 3, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ashoka and the first season of Andor. It was revealed last summer that The Art of Star Wars: The Acolyte was coming, a somewhat odd choice given the lower viewing figures comparatively to the previously mentioned shows. This new artbook for Andor will cover both seasons of the show though, plugging the gap and bringing art to the fans of its first 12 episodes.
Strangely, the book is not yet available to pre-order everywhere, but an order can be placed with Abrams themselves. The book can only be found on Amazon via a direct link, as it is currently hidden from the search. Expect this to change soon now that a set date has been given for release.
First premiering in 2022, Star Wars: Andor became a critically acclaimed Disney+ series that follows Cassian Andor at the start of the rebellion, showing his journey 5 years before appearing the in the movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It's a slightly darker take for the Star Wars universe, featuring themes of rebellion and oppression in a politically driven story. The show features a lot of characters and locations that makes it perfect for the artbook treatment.
