An exciting new book has been revealed for Hazelight Studio's vibrant co-op game Split Fiction, giving fans a new way to enjoy the adventure. Coming next year is Split Fiction: The Art and Lore of the Game to share a look at how the imagination of the developers created the critically-acclaimed hit, first reported on here.

Revealed in a listing on the website of publisher Titan Books, the book is being released on April 27th, 2027 and comes as a 160-page hardcover. The listing is very recent, so pre-orders will begin to go live soon, but we know it will have an RRP of $39.99 in the US, and £34.99 in the UK. The book is authored by Chris Farnell to guide readers through the commentary and visuals of the Hazelight's game.
The story of Mio and Zoe will be explored through artwork, with the book being described as a "richly illustrated book covered in scribbles and commentary". The term 'scribbles' implies early concept art which is expected in an artbook for a video game, and the commentary will no doubt share the lore part of the books title, making this the perfect companion to the game for those wanting more from the genre-blending hit.
Split Fiction's worlds of sci-fi and fantasy creates a vibrant and fun look for the game, making it perfect for the artbook treatment. It also includes a lot of weird and wonderful gameplay moments too, from battling kittens, to playing as a pig and becoming a hotdog, which would have given the art team an eclectic mix of artwork and designs to create. The game is anything but grounded and that makes Split Fiction: The Art and Lore of the Game a release to get excited about. This volume is also in safe hands with Titan Books too, having been publishing excellent artbooks for decades.
Split Fiction is a cooperative action-adventure game that takes players through chaotic and weird worlds of sci-fi and fantasy. It was developed by Hazelight Studios and published by Electronic Arts on March 6th, 2025, and became another hit for the team following It Takes Two. It follows young writers Mio and Zoe, who get trapped inside a device that merged their contrasting stories into a reality they must escape. It's combination of action, comedy gameplay, fantastic visuals, and a focus on co-op made it a hit among critics and fans, leading it to sell over 4 million copies.
Future updates for Split Fiction: The Art and Lore of the Game will be reported here as they happen and purchase links will also be added as they go live ahead of its April 27th, 2027 release date.
