Never Mourn Artbook Available for Free for a Limited Time

The publisher of the action roguelike Never Mourn has made the game's digital artbook and soundtrack available for free, allowing players to download them until September 15th.

Shared on social media by The CoLab Games' X account, The Art and Making of Never Mourn has kindly been made available via the file sharing platform WeTransfer. The book showcases the artwork for the characters, enemies, environments, UI, and cinematics of the game as a PDF. It also includes insights from the developers Primal Seed too that fans of game will gain some behind-the-scenes details from. You can download the book and soundtrack for free here.

The artbook features 78 pages and highlights the early sketches, concepts, full colour renders, storyboards, 3D models, and graphic designs of the game, giving a full overview of the artists' work on the release and giving it a chance to shine. It uses simple layout designs that works really well here, making the most of each page. This serves as a nice way to promote the game and treat the players, but should also be of interest to artists and art fans too as it has boasts some great fantasy characters, creatures and environment designs.

The game was released in early-access on Steam in May of 2024 and has players first taking on enemies, but then raising them from the dead using necromancy to have them join you as an allies. The fast-paced action also incorporates a skill tree to allow the player to grow more powerful and close the rifts of Never Mourn. You can visit the Steam page here.
