Lost in Cult Launch Their Expansion into Games Publishing

The UK based publisher Lost in Cult have today revealed details about their new venture, which will continue to cement them as a go to for physical releases. The team have been hard at work with books and vinyl, but after teasing their work on game publishing, they have now shared the first three releases, as well insights into the project.
Although this isn't specifically artbook news, Lost in Cult have been featured on this site many times for their ongoing Design Works series. Multiple books have been revealed recently, including entries for Animal Well, VA-11 Hall-A, Ultros and Outer Wilds. They have a focus on indie games, allowing them to highlight the work behind the more unique titles out there, which in turn makes the work they do just as interesting, with this now continuing with game publishing.
The new series will be called EDITIONS and begins with indie titles for both PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, all of which are available to order now from their website here. These will be shipped within the next 6 months, as Lost in Cult have been working ahead to reduce long wait times.
The revealed games are as follows;
Thank Goodness You’re Here! (PS5/Switch) - the BAFTA-winning comedy adventure (limited to 3,000 on Switch/1,500 on PS5)
Immortality (PS5) - the critically acclaimed interactive experience, winner of BAFTA’s Best Narrative (limited to 1,500 on PS5)
The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow (Switch) - the folk-horror adventure hit, with a BAFTA Breakthrough-winning performance (limited to 3,000 on Switch)
Headed by Ryan Brown, who previously worked at Super Rare Games, these have been created with multiple designers, artists, writers, editors, and producers to create releases that will appeal to players. EDITIONS are designed with collectors in mind too and come with consistent packaging, featuring slipcases with original artwork and theme coloured pull-out inner slipcases, perfect for display.
Also included are the following;
A fold out poster with a description on the back from the artist
An authenticity card that includes the game director's signature
A sticker
4 high-quality art cards with descriptions on the back
A unique game cover for EDITIONS
A 40 page booklet with an essay, interview, art and in-development material
Bundles will also be available, allowing collectors to order tri-monthly sets to secure them before they are even announced. EDITIONS will make a PS5 and Switch game available to order each month at a price of £59.99 which will begin in July, with the announced games being available to order now.
There is more good news for those interested in physical games too, as the games will be in their complete form on the the disc or game card, including on Switch 2 when EDITIONS are published on the platform in the future. This means you do not need an online connection to play, as the final build is in the box, which is great for game preservation. Lost in Cult have teamed up with DoesItPlay? to commit to making sure this is the case with every release.
For those that are concerned about missing out on limited edition releases need not worry either, as standard editions will also be available at retail on the same day. This is a big win for gamers, especially for those that have felt the pain of missing out on games in the past.
The output at Lost in Cult has been more than impressive, with multiple books and vinyl being revealed over the last few months.
