This week on The Artbook Collector YouTube channel is a preview of Marvel Studios' The Infinity Saga - Doctor Strange: The Art of the Movie!
The book is a part of the Infinity Saga series from publisher Titan Books, one that is rereleasing the Marvel Studios artbooks as a new matching set. This will include 24 books in total, starting with Iron Man and ending with Spider-Man: Far From Home, with this being the 13th release. This is the new version of Marvel’s Doctor Strange: The Art of the Movie that was published in 2016.
The book comes with 344 pages that features early concept art for the characters, dimensions, locations, weapons, magical items and key frames. As well as this, it provides a look at some of the storyboards and marketing art, covering everything the art team worked on. It's a great book for fans and one of the strongest in the series, not just because of the volume of art, but also because everything here was new to the MCU, so there is a lot of unused designs to see. There are also comments throughout from the cast, crew and artists, providing insights into both the art and the movie.

As you can see in the preview, the pages are completely filled with art, wasting absolutely no space across its high page count. It also includes a lot of double page spreads with key frames, a great feature as it was before they limited the page count to just 224 pages, as seen with all of the Multiverse Saga releases, so this doesn't mean less pieces are included. This version has the same contents as the original too, so those that missed out before now have the chance to add the concepts to their collection.
The Doctor Strange movie was released in 2016 and introduced magic into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as Stephen Strange himself, now a staple of the franchise. Along side him, others also made their first appearance too, including Mordo, The Ancient One, Kaecilius, and Wong, who is also a fan favourite. The movie was a big hit and the sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, was released following his appearances in other movies in 2022.
Before the movie though, Doctor Strange was already a big name in Marvel Comics having been created in 1963 by Steve Ditko. He has since been in endless comic runs, appearing alongside characters from all corners of the Marvel universe, making his on screen debut highly anticipated at the time.
