A small setback has hit the upcoming book that will showcase the art of movie industry veteran Dylan Cole. Being released by publisher Insight Editions (or Titan Books in the UK), Creating Worlds: The Disney and 20th Century Studios Cinematic Art of Dylan Cole to give it it's full title, is set to collect the work of the artist for the movies he has worked on, including never-before-seen art.

Creating Worlds will come as a 224-page hardcover and was initially set to be released on October 7th. However, the book has a new release date as spotted in online listings, and is now expected on November 18th 2025. The book will boast the incredible concept art, matte paintings and poster designs from Dylan Cole's career working on movies. So far the book is confirmed to highlight a look at his contributions to Avatar, Avatar: The Way of Water, Alita: Battle Angel, Oz: The Great and Powerful, Tron: Legacy, and Maleficent.

The book will also dive into his creative process and the stories behind the art, providing readers with an insight into how his pieces comes together and his approach to helping bring stunning worlds to life. With over 20 years in the industry and credits for some of the biggest franchises in cinema, including Transformers, Avatar, and The Lord of the Rings, this is a great way for those that love his work, concept art, and the behind-the-scenes of movies, to get a collection of art from one of the best in the game today. It's fantastic that the book is getting made and hopefully brings more in the future for other artists in a similar way.

Currently, Dylan Cole is working on the Avatar series as a Production Designer, taking the lead on designing the world of Pandora, with its weird and wonderful creatures, landscapes and plant life. Some of his work on the upcoming sequel Avatar: Fire and Ash can be found online and highlights his talent for creating alien worlds with incredible detail. The example that can be seen below was released to promote the movie, something not often done, but a testament to the respect the studio has for the artists to use their work in this way.

The Art of Avatar: The Way of Water is also available from publisher DK and features some of the art from Dylan Cole, as well as other artists including Zachery Berger, Ben Proctor, Jonathan Bach, Ian Joyner, and more. The book comes highly recommended and although not announced, an artbook for Avatar: Fire and Ash is also very likely, so keep an eye out for that too.

Updates and news on for Creating Worlds: The Disney and 20th Century Studios Cinematic Art of Dylan Cole will be reported here and a copy will be joining the collection as well, so expected previews and a review when it is released on November 18th. Those interested can pre-order the book here;
