Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the critically acclaimed game from developer Sandfall Interactive, is getting the artbook treatment later this year, as announced today by French publisher Pix'n Love on social media.
There is currently very little known about the book, only that it will be released in 2025 by Pix'n Love in partnership with the developer and the game's publisher, Kepler Interactive. It is no surprise that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will have an artbook though, it's not only a hugely popular game already, but the visuals are one of its many highlights.
Last month I posted an article with my video game artbook predictions for games released this year, with this Clair Obscur being a wildcard at the time, as it was uncertain how it would perform with sales. After being released to huge success, an artbook became inevitable, with the only speculation left to be based on who the publisher would be.

Pix'n Love being the publisher makes sense, not only because they have published artbooks before, but they are also located in France, where Sandfall Interactive is based. Their previous books include The Art of Dordogne and the recent release, The Art of Jusant - The Great Expedition, with both games also made by French teams. These books included text in English and French, a feature that if continued in the upcoming artbook, will be most welcome for those that speak English.
It's worth mentioning that the French publisher sells books from their own website and location, so unlike the larger publishers who can send stock to vendors worldwide, it does mean that shipping costs will play a factor for those outside of France. Importing books has become increasingly expensive, even from one country to another inside of Europe. Given the popularity of the game, one would hope that shipping options have been explored, as it will likely have a high demand around the world.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was released on April 24th of this year and was met with huge praise from both critics and players. It's already being considered a game of the year contender, with people praising the story, performances, visuals and its interactive turn-based combat. It has sold over 2 million copies already, an incredible achievement for not only a new IP, but also for a game made by a core team of around 30 people.
More news is to come for the book, all of which will be reported here. You can also order other books from the Pix'n Love by visiting their website - www.pixnlove.com/99-artbooks.
