The Marvel releases keep coming in 2026, with another release hitting shelves that can be previewed on The Artbook Collector YouTube. You can preview the retro volume of artwork with Marvel Cosmic Invasion: The Art of the Game!
Published by Dark Horse on August 4th, 2026, in partnership with Marvel Games and the developer Tribute Games. The 120-page hardcover shares a look at the 90's style beat 'em up through the team's artwork, giving players another way to enjoy Marvel Cosmic Invasion's classic style. Check out the preview below.
Inside it covers the base game without DLC, showcasing pixel art and animation concepts for the heroes and villains, stage background artwork, easter eggs, and illustrations for the cinematics. It fits a lot in to its smaller page count and it's a joy to see this style of game get the artbook treatment, as it's often reserved for bigger titles. Marvel Games are very good at getting artbooks made for their releases, with Dark Horse being a regular partner that utilises their vast experience with artbooks.
In my review I praised the art style and simple, yet effective approach to the presentation of the artwork. It won't give you a lot of detailed insights, but those that love the visual style will find a lot to love inside. The next release from Dark Horse that dives back into this comic universe is Marvel's Wolverine: The Art of the Game, which will share a look at Insomniac Games' upcoming adventure. It arrives on November 3rd, 2026, giving Marvel fans another volume of art to pore over, albeit a much more blood soaked one!
