Fans in the West of the dark fantasy RPG Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty have been left another painful extension to their wait time for a look at the art behind the game, following yet another setback for the upcoming artbook. The Art of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty from Udon Entertainment has just suffered its fourth delay and has been pushed back out of April.

The Art of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty delay

The Art of Wo Long: Fallen Dyansty was first announced for June 2025, but the new date, as spotted on Amazon US and Barnes and Noble, has the book coming on May 26th 2026, almost a year later. The hardcover from Udon is the English translated edition of the Kadokawa original that was released in Japan in July 2023, meaning that English speakers are close to a three year wait to see enjoy the artwork from developer Team Ninja.

The reason for the delay is again unknown, because no public comment is ever made on delays and are only spotted by checking retail websites. As this has happened recently, not all sites have updated their listings either, including Amazon UK who still have it listed for April, so expect more to update the details soon. It is an odd delay when looking in from the outside, because it's a translated edition of a book from 2023, so it was already content complete. It could simply be quality control issues or scheduling conflicts, but as always, we can only speculate without official announcements from the publisher.

The Art of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will showcase concept art, 3D models, and illustrations for the characters, enemies, locations, weapons, armour and more, along with written profiles too. Fans of the game will get to explore the work of the team that helped build Wo Long's fantasy infused period of 184CE, during the time of the Han Dynasty's collapse. The book comes as a hardcover from Udon Entertainment, as opposed to a softcover that came with the original from Kadokawa, which will be a welcome improvement for collectors that care about book preservation.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has had more than 5 million players take on its tough 'soulslike' gameplay, which means there could be a lot of interest in this book. However, the gaming industry and players move on quickly from games no matter how big they are, so it is always reasonable to expect that the longer a book takes to arrive, the less interest there will be. Delays are unfortunately expected in the publishing world, but hopefully this will change in the future for the sake of the people that enjoy books filled with wonderful artwork and the publishers that release them.

A copy of The Art of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will be joining the collection when it arrives May 26th to be reviewed. Any news or updates will be reported here and you can pre-order the book for your own collection here;
