'The Art of Metaphor: ReFantazio' Arrives in 2027
September 17th 2026
A new listing appeared today for a book that will excite fans of developer Atlus, because The Art of Metaphor: ReFantazio has been revealed to be hitting shelves early next year. This new look at the 2024 game will share the artwork and development details in a full-sized standalone release, with details and a placeholder cover shared by the publisher.

Some details are not concrete at the time of writing this as it is a very early listing, in fact, even Google finds only one mention of this book. I spotted it on the website of Titan Books, publisher of the release in the "UK/ Rest of the World", which being familiar with the site, I know means that a different publisher will cover the US and Canada. That is typically Insight Editions, tentatively confirmed by the only search result, a New Zealand website called Pop Weasle, that lists them as the publisher.
Titan Books lists the book as arriving on March 9th, 2027, and the Pop Weasle site has the date April 13th. Both are on a Tuesday which is when books release, but I'd be inclined at this time to go with Titan Books' date as they are the publisher. The title "The Art of Metaphor: ReFantazio" could also change, as the placeholder cover seen above has titled it "The Art and Making of Metaphor: ReFantazio", and a change of title is not unheard of early on.
The book will feature 224 pages of concept art and sketches for the game from Shigenori Soejima and the Studio Zero's art department, allowing players to explore the visuals of the characters and United Kingdom of Euchronia. As well as this, it will also feature written details about the development of Atlus' critial hit RPG, making it the ultaimte companion to the game. It comes with an RRP of £39.99, which would typically be around $50 in the US, likely to be confirmed very soon as listings go live.
This is also not to be confused with Metaphor ReFantazio Premium Art Book, which was a 64-page book released as part of the Collector's Edition of the game. These editions often feature artbooks, but standalone releases from publishers like Titan Books are larger in size and share a lot more art and details. This means that if you have that smaller book, this could still be something worth adding to your shelf.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is a fantasy RPG from Studio Zero and the minds behind the Persona series. It launched on October 11, 2024 and follows the protagonist and Gallica, his fairy companion, who must break a curse placed on the kingdom's prince. It combines turn-based combat, social relationships, and time-management mechanics, while also incorporating an Archetype system. Metaphor: ReFantazio went on to win three awards at The Game Awards 2024 and sold more than one million copies on its first day, but has since crossed two million sales. It's reception will mean that a lot of people will be very interested in poring over the artwork behind it in this new book.
Expect listings and details to begin appearing soon for The Art of Metaphor: ReFantazio, all of which will be updated here or shared later as they happen, such as the cover reveal and any release date changes.
