On The Artbook Collector YouTube channel this week is a look at the recently released book, The Art of Judge Dredd by Jock!

The book was released on October 21st as a 224-page hardcover from Rebellion Publishing and showcases the superb artwork of Mark Simpson, aka Jock. It covers his artwork for the iconic Judge Dredd comic, as well as the 2012 movies, and other titles in the 2000 AD line of comics.

Inside the talent of Jock is on full display, with layout sketches, cover designs, inks, finished interiors, and final cover art. As well as this, his move into concept art gets a showcase for the Dredd movie, where he helped shape the more grounded look through character and locations designs. It's a brilliant mix of artwork that fans of the artists will enjoy having collected in one volume.

Jock is an acclaimed illustrator and concept designer best known for his striking and bold comic book art. He got his work first published for Judge Dredd, as explored in this book. Since his early career, he has gone on to work for both DC and Marvel, which included creating art for Batman: The Black Mirror, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Detective Comics. Jock also created concept art for Dredd, which then allowed him to do more movie art, which includes Ex Machina, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and X-Men: Days of Future Past. The talent and style of Jock has made him a notable and influential name in comic books, a reputation that will no doubt continue as his career keeps going.
