This week's preview on The Artbook Collector YouTube for the recently released book Insight Editions/ Titan Books, The Art and Making of Dune Awakening!

The 224-page hardcover was released on October 21st and showcases the artwork and 3D models of the survival game from Funcom. It also details the making of the game though interviews with the team that includes Creative Director Joel Bylos and Producer Nils Ryborg. You can check out the preview below.

Inside you will find the development history and details of the game, including its early inception, creating the story, visiting the movie sets, the character creation process, gameplay mechanics, base designs, and more.

On the art side, there is a lot packed in for the characters, vehicles, locations, bases and technology of Dune: Awakening. There's a mix of both digital art and 3D models that gets showcased, highlighting the talent of multiple teams at Funcom. For players that have braved the sands and would like more from Arakkis, there is some fantastic stuff to see here.

Dune: Awakening was launched on PC in June 2025, with console versions expected to be released in 2026. The game from Funcom, in partnership with Legendary Entertainment, drops players on the harsh world of Arrakis with the goal of finding the Fremen, as well as surviving the planet. Threats come from other players, the weather, enemies, and of course, giant sandworms. The game allows fans to get immersed in the world created by author Frank Herbert, combining crafting, combat and exploration to create the online survival game.
