A new artbook preview is on The Artbook Collector YouTube channel, this time for the return of Sam Wilson, Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World - The Art of the Movie.

Returning with another artbook that releases on July 8th, Marvel Studios shares the concept art, storyboards, developer insights, and more for the big screen debut of Anthony Mackie's role as Captain America. The 224-page book comes with a slipcase and 5 lithograph prints, the third in this format from the publisher. The art covers the characters, technology, villains, storyboards, and colour scripts, with a lot of interesting and strange ideas that never made it into the movie.

The most notable inclusions here are looks at unused ideas and explorations of the villains. The Serpent Society was cut from the film, but the art here depicts each of them using technology to modify their bodies in extreme ways. The concept art for the leader are the most varied, with designs that resemble what we saw on screen, and other closer to his comic book depiction. There are a couple that go a step further though, incorporating exo-suits and even having his head split open in a horrifying way.

The book has great content, but does come with its issues, such as the poor print quality of dark images, a bad font choice, and a price point that is hard to justify. You can read my full review with all the details here.

Captain America: Brave New World was released on February 14th 2025 and follows Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) after her stepped into the role of Captain America in 2021. In the film, President Ross (Harrison Ford) pursues an adamantium agreement with other nations, only for things to go wrong as expected in the Marvel Universe. The film introduces two new alter egos as the antagonists, The Leader and Red Hulk, as well as bringing back some familiar faces too. The movie received mixed reviews and didn't make as much at box office as previous releases, no doubt to the disappointment of the studio. This book comes 5 months after the movies release, less time than previous entries.

If you ware a fan of the movies though and enjoyed the preview, you can order Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World - The Art of the Movie here;
