Square Enix are continuing their ongoing series of books for Final Fantasy XIV, giving players of the popular MMO a chance to enjoy the art behind the world they created. Coming later this year is a look at more art for the Dawntrail expansion in their upcoming book, Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail -- The Art of Succession -Relics of Eternity-.

The softcover was revealed by Square Enix Books on social media on June 19th and went under the radar here, but can now be added to the record here. Since sharing the post, the book has gone live on retailer listings for pre-order ahead of its December 15th release date. What's interesting, is that this date seems to be the same in both English and Japanese, when typically Japan get the books earlier on.
This is the second volume that covers the expansion, with Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail --The Art of Succession -Relics of Heritage- being released in 2025. Like that book, the new volume shares hundreds of pieces of artwork for the characters and locations of Tural, but through to Patch 7.5 of the game. This means that The Arcadion, Echoes of Vana’diel, and Cosmic Exploration will be found inside. A bonus code is also included in the book for a Lolly Cat minion too.
Final Fantasy XIV is not lacking for artbooks, with this being the 11th in the series. Despite there being so many, this upcoming release still has a huge 304 pages, highlighting how much work the artists put into the game more the 15 years after it launched in 2010. Below is the last release, and the first volume for Dawntrail, The Art of Succession -Relics of Heritage-.

The iconic series had another two artbooks scheduled for 2026. The first was The Art of Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Rising Tide that was released on May 5th, sharing a look at the DLC for Final Fantasy XIV. The second book, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Material Ultimania, hits shelves next month on July 14th as an English version of the Japanese original that highlights the art, models, and insights, behind the second part of the epic VII remake.
Square Enix Books is keeping themselves very busy, and that's never a bad thing for fans and collectors. The commitment to sharing a look at the talent of their teams is always good to see, and many books for the art, stories, and worlds of the games are worked constantly. So much so that Square Enix have this entire division dedicated to publishing them. There's never a bad time to be someone that plays Final Fantasy, but that also applies to people that enjoy artwork!
