Marvel and Dark Horse partner again for a third entry in their Bullpen Books series, this time focusing on two artists and their work on the God of Thunder, Thor!
The Art of The Mighty Thor will showcase the artwork of comic book legend Jack Kirby and fellow artist Walter Simonson, collected from archival scans to be shared in this new 10"x14" hardcover book. Across its 200 pages, fans of Thor and the artists will get to pore over cover art and interiors, as well as notes and an essay too. The book is set to release June 9th 2026 and has an RRP of $59.99.
Inside there are some complete stories as well and the first two are Thor Annual 2 and Thor 134 from Jack Kirby. For Simonson’s run of the character, the full issues of Thor 137-140 are included. The pencils and inks will be complimented with commentary and notes to add details and some history, making this the ultimate look at The Mighty Thor.
The Bullpen Books series focuses on both characters and creators at Marvel Comics, with this following The Art of The Amazing Spider-Man, that was focused on John Romita's run of the comic series from 1966 to 1973, and The Art of Fantastic Four, which featured Kirby's run from 1961 to 1971. This ongoing series will no doubt appeal to those that are looking for some high quality collections of classic Marvel artwork.
