Call of Duty is getting its first standalone artbook this year after the first game's release over 20 years ago, focusing on the hugely popular Zombies mode. However, fans will have to wait a little longer, as Call of Duty Zombies: The Art of Treyarch has been hit by a delay that pushes further back in the summer.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Art of an Undersea World

The book is coming by way of Insight Editions and Titan Books, and was revealed in October 2025 with a June 16th publication date. Sadly, that has now changed, as retailer listings and the Titan Books website have now updated its release to August 11th 2026.

The reason is unknown, as is normal for the artbook world, with both publishers silent about the delay as is also the norm. Those that collect artbooks will know very well that delays are common, affecting most titles, and that announcements are done with a bang in contrast to the silence of subsequent set backs. After 20 years of only having published artwork for the series in books found in collector's editions of the games, a couple of extra months to wait is very unlikely to deter fans from picking this up.

The other details have not changed though, because it is still listed as a 256-page hardcover with an RRP of $50/ £40. It will feature the artwork of the Zombies mode from Treyarch, the developers behind the Black Ops game the mode is featured with, as well as insights from the team too.

Zombies has grown and expanded since its debut in 2008, going from defending a decrepit house, to large maps and its own story, after multiple Call of Duty releases. It became quickly popular with players that enjoyed the intense chaos that it brought while playing with friends, offering an alternative gameplay experience to the rest of the series' multiplayer modes. The latest iteration was included in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 in 2025. The trailer can be seen below that highlights how far Zombies has come.

Future updates will be reported here and a copy will be joining the collection when it arrives on August 11th to be reviewed as well. If you are interested in the book yourself, you can pre-order Call of Duty Zombies: The Art of Treyarch here;
