August 25th 2026 The Bullpen Books series returns with its fourth entry in 2027, as Dark Horse Books and Marvel Comics are back to bring more artwork to the shelves of comic collectors. This time they are sharing a look at some classic issues for the world of mutants in The Art of The Uncanny X-Men. The 10" x 14" hardcover comes with 208 pages of cover art, full issues, original art, and more for the X-Men, all printed using Marvel's archival scans. The book is being published on February 23rd, 2027 and will be priced at $59.99. Listings have begun appearing online, including Amazon US, with listings in other countries expected to begin appearing in the near future. The Art of The Uncanny X-Men is set to feature a look at artwork from the '70's from Len Wein, Chris Claremont, and Dave Cockrum, which includes the first appearances of Storm, Colossus, and Nightcrawler in Giant-Size X-Men 1. Chris Claremont and John Byrne also get the spotlight with a look at Uncanny X-Men 137 and Uncanny X-Men 141–142, famous for the 'Days of Future Past' storyline. The previous two releases from Bullpen Books, The Art of Fantastic Four and The Art of The Mighty Thor In case that wasn't enough, there will also be an essay from Chris Ryall and John Lind about the contributions of these creators and how their work has added the the huge legacy of X-Men. There will also be commentary on the artwork featured throughout the book as well. Prior to this, Dark Horse released three volumes of art in the Bullpen Books series, all shining the spotlight on industry legends and their contributions to iconic characters. The first was The Art of The Amazing Spider-Man, followed then by The Art of Fantastic Four, and finally The Art of The Mighty Thor in June of this year.
