'The Art of Zootopia 2' is Coming Later This Year

Disney continues its long run of animated movie artbooks with a look at the return of Zootopia later this year.
Zootopia 2 is coming to the big screen in the US on November 26th, with the return of Judy and Nick headed to theatres elsewhere on the 28th. Following the success of the 2016 original that grossed over a billion dollars, there is no doubt the sequel will also be hugely popular.
It's good news then that, although not unexpected, The Art of Zootopia 2 is also coming out later this year from Chronicle Books. The publisher has partnered with Disney for a long time on their artbooks, which includes entries from both Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar movies. This new book is set for release on October 28th in the US and most of Europe, with the UK expecting the book on November 6th. It comes as the usual hardcover and will feature 172 pages.
Like previous artbooks from the studio and publisher, fans can get a look at the early sketches and ideas for the characters and locations, as well as the storyboards, and colorscripts for the animated movie. There will also be insights included from the team behind the art and the movie itself throughout.
What is noticeably unusual again with this book is that it will be on sale ahead of the movies release. This has frequently become the case for artbooks from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar, an unusual approach that exposes people to spoilers. Most recently, The Art of Elio was released in May, despite the movie not coming out until later this month. This also happened with The Art of Inside Out 2 and The Art of Moana 2. This is the opposite approach Disney have taken with their Marvel Studios and Star Wars artbooks, with releases coming months or years later, though it is worth noting they are done with different publishers.
Expect superb art from the team, a quality made book and pages completely filled with images and insights. The releases from Chronicle Books have always been very good and the art teams behind the movies are filled with incredibly talented people. Zootopia 2 will once again focus on Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde in the animal filled city of Zootopia. It follows their undercover investigation into a new visitor of the city, an mysterious snake played by Ke Huy Quan.
