The official description of book, which is also the same as found online for the 2012 edition, is as follows;

"A gorgeous full-color hardcover art book featuring the best Betty & Veronica artwork from their 85-year history as America’s reigning cartoon high school icons. This edition showcases beautiful full-color illustrations by fan-favorite artists including Dan DeCarlo, Harry Lucey, Bob Montana, Dan Parent, with many more, and features an eye-catching cover with silver foil, silver ink, and spot UV.

The book also includes insightful cultural and historical commentary as well as expert commentary from inside the fashion industry on Betty and Veronica’s style through the decades, and how they reflected the popular trends of the times and represented the evolution of style."

Inside are the inks and final coloured interiors and covers for comic series, including for their early appearances in Laugh Comics, PEP Comics, and Archie Comics. There are chapters broken down into decades too, starting with the 1940's, allowing the reader to see how the characters changed over time.

Betty & Veronica is a long-running comic book series from Archie Comics that focuses on the friendship and rivalry between Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge, two students at Riverdale High. First appearing in the 1940s, they were often at odd while trying to gain the affection of Archie Andrews, while also navigating teenage life, fashion, and a lot of drama in between. The series made a brief return in 2016 as part of the New Riverdale line of comics.

Betty's hardworking and down-to-earth nature contrasted Veronica's is glamour, confidence, and wealth, creating a dynamic that helped the characters gain enough popularity to endure many decades later.
