"In space, no one can hear you scream." The tagline of 1979's Alien from Ridley Scott is still famous over 40 years later. On Earth though, the excitement for the return of Giger's Alien can and should be heard by everyone, because the book is making its return in 2026.

Artist H.R. Giger, famous for his biomechanical paintings and sculptures, was behind the design of the Xenomorph, one of the most iconic creature in all of media. Giger's Alien explores his sketches and paintings when creating the visual design for the movie, as well as set photos and stills for the creatures debut in the original movie. Originally published in 1979, the book is making its return on September 1st 2026 from publisher Titan Books.
Spotted on the website of the publisher, the 80-page hardcover will give fans old and new a chance to see the Academy-Award winning artist's work that went into creating the instantly recognizable horror legend. It also comes with photos of the set design for Alien, along with insights into the production of the movie. All this makes it perfect for fans of the film, the Xenomorph, and Giger, especially those that missed out on the original book and want to avoid the high prices on second-hand book markets.

Reprints of older artbooks are always worth celebrating, especially as they don't happen too often, causing many books to become difficult to come by or very expensive. If any book is going to get this treatment though, one based on the incredible visual design from Giger for a horror classic is a no-brainer for the publisher.
Giger's Alien comes with an RRP of $50/ £39.99 and should become available to pre-order online soon. While the book was spotted on the Titan Books website, searching retailer listings only pulls up results for older versions of the book. However, searching via the ISBN number does find the book on Amazon UK, which has it listed as unavailable at this time. Perhaps after an official announcement, it will appear on more sites for fans to place orders.

H.R. Giger is a Swiss artist that created dark biomechanical paintings and sculptures, sometimes including horror and sexually suggestive imagery. Known best for his work on Alien, he has a large catalogue of work that also includes album covers, paintings, a bar, and a unique microphone stand for the band Korn. Giger passed away in 2014, but continues to be hugely influential today and will likely be for many more years to come. His work has been shared in many artbooks outside of this one, so it's not difficult for fans to add some of his otherworldly art to their shelves.
Future updates on Giger's Alien will be shared here, but keep an eye out in the meantime for listings on retailer websites so you can place a pre-order for its September 1st release date. This in the UK can find the Amazon age below to add it to their wishlist.
