The Artbook Collector YouTube channel rolls into 2026 with another recent release, this time looking at the artwork of illustrator and concept artist Bryce Kho!
Overflow: The Art of Bryce Kho from 3dtotal Publishing is a look at the life, career, and art of Kho, presented in a 216-page hardcover book. It comes with incredible cover art with gold foiling, which helped win it my 2025 award for Best Book Cover. The book launched after a successful Kickstarter campaign that shattered its funding goal.
Inside fans of Kho are treated to studies, illustrations, and tutorials for his work, showcasing his incredible talent across multiple styles and disciplines. From colourful anatomy studies, to his maximalist scenes, those that enjoy the work of the artist will find a great range of images to pore over. Alongside this you can read about his life creating art, including as a child, his university life, working in games, and his philosophy and approach to creating his stunning creations.
In my review for Overflow I praised this variety, as well as the quality of the physical book itself, which displayed the art wonderfully. You can read that in full here - Book Review.
Bryce Kho is an artist from Pasadena, California that currently works at Sabotage Studio, the developer behind the hit game Sea of Stars. Many, including myself, will know him best for his work on the game, which received its own artbook last year from 3dtotal, titled Sea of Stars: The Concept Art of Bryce Kho. This was followed up by a book for the game's DLC, which was released alongside Overflow.
Kho also has a large following on Instagram, where you can find more of his maximalist art style. More can also be found on his website here - www.brycekho.com.
Read reviews for his other two books with 3dtotal Publishing for Sea of Stars here, both of which come highly recommended!
